Candid Canine Interview

I had the pleasure of being contacted by Chris Verstraete of Candid Canine to be a feature story on her blog.

Chris has always know she wanted to be writer.  Her career has been in newspapers and magazines, although fiction is something that has always called to her.  She has received various awards from Illinois and national press associations for nonfiction articles she has written.

To read the interview she did about Frankie and me, please do check it out on her blog.  Thank you, Chris for a wonderful interview!!

Friendly reminder:  A portion of all book sales through April 30th will be donated to Rolling Dog Ranch Animal Sanctuary

Dachshund House Rules… Strictly Enforced

Thank you to the awesome magazine, Doxie Digest for "The Funny Bone" page and this entry. It just cracked me up! Hope you will enjoy it.

1. The Dachshund is no allowed in the house.

2. Okay, the Dachshund is allowed in the house, but only in certain rooms.

3. The Dachshund is allowed in all rooms, but has to stay off the furniture.

4. Okay, the Dachshund can get on the old furniture only.

5. Fine, the Doxie is allowed on all the furniture, but is not allowed to sleep with the humans on the bed.

6. Okay, Okay, the Dachshund is allowed on the bed, but only by invitation.

7. This is the exception, the Dachshund can sleep on the bed whenever he wants, but not under the covers.

8. Well, OK, the Dachshund can sleep under the covers, but by invitation only.

9. All right! The Doxie can sleep under the covers every night.

10. Fine…this is final, humans must ask to sleep under the covers with the Dachshund. There will be NO giving in to this rule.

Rolling Dog Ranch Donated Goal Almost Met!!

Frankie has been on a real roll and so far has raised $355 for Rolling Dog Ranch Animal Sanctuary (a special place where disabled animals enjoy life on a Montana ranch)  We hope to raise $500 for this well deserving sanctuary.  If you know of anyone looking for a great gift for a child we would appreciate you sharing this blog post with them.  $5.00 per book is being donated to Rolling Dog Ranch.  Thank you for your help!  Our fund raising event ends April 30th.
