Life Renewing Itself. Miss Marie’s Snowdrops.

Life Renewing Itself. Miss Marie's Snowdrops.

We’ve had some warm days in-between some chilly ones. I’ve taken full advantage of the warm ones. I pulled Gidget’s dog stroller out of the corner of the garage and we’ve been strolling through our quaint village when we can.

Whenever I drive into town, I drive by Miss Marie’s home. There is no other way around it really, as it is part of our small downtown. It’s hard to see it so quiet and closed up. Though there is a tenant living upstairs yet. But it’s sometimes a jolt to know Miss Marie will never again walk down the steps of her back porch, nor will I see her in her oilcloth apron, or hear her one-of-a-kind laugh.

It’s been one month since she died. It kind of amazes me that this much time has passed already.

I’d been avoiding walking on the sidewalk next to her house. Instead, I’d stand across the street and take a few moments staring at her home wishing she’d still be there.

But the other day I decided to walk by. She never really had a lawn. Instead, the yard is landscaped with many plants and shrubs growing wildly. This time of year with winter now on its way out, everything is still in its dormant stage. But underneath I’ve no doubt there is life just waiting to burst forth.

As I rounded the corner to walk past the front of her home –  her home is on a corner lot – there among the plants that lie still without visible life yet, was this small patch of snowdrop flowers.

I know Miss Marie’s soul lives on. I just can’t see it. I can’t tell you how often I hear “Miss Barbara” in my mind as I’m thinking about things we talked about or making decisions I need to make.

When I saw these sweet snowdrops I couldn’t help but think how life continually renews itself.

Some of the common meanings for the snowdrop flowers are purity, hope, rebirth and consolation or sympathy.

Miss Marie may not be here physically, but her spirit lives on in so many of the lives she touched. Her life is renewed in a new way, as is mine as I open to connecting with her in a different way now. And her home that will come to life again someday with new residents I’m sure.

But for now, it feels like such sacred ground as I continue to honor the gift of Miss Marie and all she brought me in my life.

XO,

Barbara

It’s OK to Celebrate Yourself and Your Accomplishments!

How often, especially as women, do we squelch our accomplishments for fear other’s may say we are bragging or we worry that other’s may think, “who does she think she is?”

Well, I’m celebrating myself and I’m proud, oh-so-proud, to share that I’ve completed the Personal Mastery Level of Oracle School studying with Colette Baron-Reid. This is the school I feel like I’ve been looking for my whole life – well, actually, I guess you could say the past couple of years.  🙂

They weren’t kidding when they said it’s not for everyone – it’s hard, deep, personal work. And there were days I questioned why the heck (OK, truth be told, I really said hell – ha!), signed up for this. The fact I took this challenge on is why I’m proud and why I’m…

CELEBRATING!!

Even though hard work at times, the reward of sitting through some very uncomfortable things, has led me to a new place of peace and understanding within. And this place feels pretty darn wonderful.

The cool thing is that I never have to leave this school if I don’t want to. And I don’t. I actually just registered to take the next level, Shared Wisdom and The Invision Process. This will be an even deeper dive into not only my own psyche, but to expand on mastering specific Universal Laws and the mystical understanding of the world around us which includes signs, symbols, synchronicity and spirit animals (big WOO HOO on the Spirit Animals as if you’ve been following me for awhile you know how much this speaks to me!!).

This is right up my alley and what I love learning about, and sharing and being of service in helping others seeking to live a more meaningful life. It fits in line with my motto to pause often, listen deeply and capture what matters, because when we take time to be in touch with our inner world, and learn to see how that is connected to the outer world, we find that we are not alone, and that Spirit is supporting us every step of the way.

This school, and the many practices I’ve put in place over the years, also keeps me tuned into my intuition. When I trust my heart (also intuition!) I’ve found that it leads me down my next and right path each time.

And this is why I celebrate, because choosing to live a meaningful life isn’t always easy, but it is so worth it. So worth it!

Much love and gratitude,

Barbara

Expect Miracles. That Was Fast!

Expect Miracles. That Was Fast!

Mother Nature had a miracle in store for me today. I awoke at 4am.  After trying to go back to sleep, I gave up and got up a little after 5am.

Out to my writing cottage by 6:15am I drew two oracle cards and one of my SoulCollage cards. From the Soul Coaching deck by Denise Linn the card Miracles presented itself. And the message to let go of expectations of what you might define as miracle is and to just be open to unexpected miracles.

Okay, got it.

Half-way through my Yoga practice, in boat pose, gazing out my windows with a gully of trees about 15 ft. from my cottage, here comes a hawk, skillfully and ever so gracefully within that small space, who glided right past my windows!

WOW!

Yup! Right out loud I said, Wow!  And oh, how my heart smiled. That indeed was a miracle! I’ve had my writing cottage since 2009 and not once have a I seen a hawk fly right in front of my window and so close like this one did.

And another miracle?  I didn’t even falter during boat pose as I was stunned in that moment for that beautiful miracle that graced me with his magnificent presence.

What a way to start the day!
