Alex Makes the 50th Dog Helped with a Dog Wheelchair!
Alex

We are doing a happy dance here at Joyful Paws headquarters!

Why?

Because Alex is the 50th dog the Frankie Wheelchair Fund has granted a wheelchair to!

Alex is currently with foster, Sandi, with Dachshund Rescue of South Florida. She sent me ths picture of Alex and said, “Here’s a pic of sweet n snugly Alex in his Eddie’s Wheels. He took to his wheels like a duck to water!”

Does not surprise me one bit. I’ve seen time and time again how these dogs get on with the joy of living life — now rolling through the grass, down the street, and over their human’s feet. Nothing stops them!

A very special thanks to Sarah of The Smoothe Store as the money she raised selling dog banandas last fall helped pay for Alex’s wheelchair which she donated to the Frankie Wheelchair Fund.

You can apply, donate, or learn more about the fund on our website, National Walk ‘N Roll Dog Day.

Alex’s wheelchair custom made by Eddie’s Wheels.

Keep on rolling Alex!

Cricket

This week being close to Thanksgiving, I wish to say a very grateful thank you to everyone who has made it possible for me to help paralyzed dogs with a wheelchair to give them the gift of mobility. I couldn’t do it without you and I’m so thankful for your generosity and help through the years donating to The Frankie Wheelchair Fund.

Meet Cricket! She is the 47th dog granted a wheelchair through The Frankie Wheelchair Fund.

It still amazes me to this day how effortlessly many dogs take to their wheels and off they go, exploring and living life to the fullest.

Cricket is with Furever Dachshund Rescue when she will live out her life with Jo Anne and their permanent foster care program. She was brought to my attention by Sarah of The Smoothe Store. Sarah ran a campaign in conjunction with mine and National Walk ‘N Roll Dog Day this past fall, to help raise awareness and raise funds. I’m so grateful to her and those who donated because of her efforts- thank you!

Keep on rolling, Cricket! If you’d like to donate to the care of Cricket who is on various medications and daily therapy you can do so via Furever Dachshund Rescue.

Stay tuned to meet Peewee and Canelo! Two more dogs recently granted wheelchairs through The Frankie Wheelchair Fund.

Come Meet Sammy! Granted a Wheelchair from The Frankie Wheelchair Fund (and available for adoption!)

Can you say cuteness overload? Sammy’s one ear cocked to the side really gets to my heart as it reminds me of how Gidget’s one ear does the same thing.  As if she has a wire in her ear!

I learned about Sammy from Sarah of The Smoothe Store, who was instrumental in helping raise funds this past September for The Frankie Wheelchair Fund- raising $3,500!  Woo hoo!

With the help of Sarah and money raised, we were able to help Sammy currently with Dachshund Rescue of South Florida with a wheelchair.

I think it’s pretty safe to say that Sammy is oober happy in his brand new shiny wheels!  Seeing faces like Sammy just sends oodles of love to my heart.

And you can see just how fast he is in his wheels with this video on his foster mom Sandi’s Facebook page.

Want to bring Sammy into your life?  He is available for adoption!!

Stay tuned to meet Cricket soon!
