Friday afternoon I walked in the woods with Kylie and Gidget and don’t recall seeing this new birdhouse — in fact, there were two of them that I saw today when we were meandering the paths once again.
I wondered how I could have missed them. But perhaps I didn’t. Maybe it was Saturday that the fairy carpenters pulled up in their little red pick up trucks, set up their tiny table saws, pulled out their hammers and nails, and got down to work. I bet their teeny hard hats were adorable.
It must have taken quite a few of them to hoist this birdhouse up, and what was likely giant to them, to attach it to the tree.
But then again, you know… fairies are magical and they can do most anything.
I imagine afterwards they sat in a row on a nearby log, cracked open a beer, and sat back and took great pride in their beautiful efforts in building new homes for their bird friends.
Maybe, just maybe, next time I’ll see them in action!
