On Monday I worked with an animal communicator, so I share my thoughts below for you on that experience.

As many of you know, if it were not for my lab, Cassie Jo, the chances of having this blog (or my website) as well as, the start of my writing about dogs, may have never been.

Cassie Jo would have turned 14 on June 28^th.  Ever since she passed away on July 11th, 2005 I’ve wanted to “talk” to Cassie Jo via an animal communicator.  I finally went ahead and had this done.  It was amazing.  I’ve always felt very strongly the reason why Cassie Jo was in my life, but I wanted to know straight from her.

Sage Lewis, Animal Communicator was wonderful to work with.  She said, “Cassie was brought here to be your teacher.  To teach you acceptance and patience and to open your heart even bigger.”

She told me that Cassie Jo had, and still has, this expansive energy about her and a knowing that not all dogs have.  She said she is very wise.  She also told me that she is still with me.  I’ve always felt that, but didn’t know if it was just wishing, or if it was so.  She said, “Cassie Jo felt she had to leave early at the age of 10.  She felt she could provide bigger teachings to you by being with you in spirit.”  When she said that, it really gave me goose bumps.  It really hit me deeply.

She also said Cassie Jo is very graceful with many human qualities, and Sage really felt she may have been a human before she became a dog.  She said Cassie Jo is content being with me, which really made me happy, and has no plans of leaving, which made me even happier.  Sage also said that the colors surrounding Cassie Jo are a bright fuscia and lavender.  It seems so fitting.

Whether or not you believe in animal communication is entirely up to you.  For me this call was icing on the cake to all I have done with my writing since she has been physically gone.  My heart feels a peace I have not felt before… and the strongest knowing and belief now that yes indeed, Cassie Jo is my spiritual teacher and guide.  To me it is so comforting and reassuring.  I feel like I finally have the answer I always was seeking in regards to Cassie Jo.  For that and more, I so believe in the power of animals and what they bring to our lives.
