Dr. Wayne Dyer Inspiration: Forget Cash Value

My all time favorite inspirational speaker is Dr. Wayne Dyer.  I hope to meet him someday!

I love his inspirational cards and though I don’t pick a card everyday, something called me to pick one today. So here is what I picked:

Try to free yourself from placing a cash value on everything you have, do, and say.  Do what your heart tells you will bring you joy, rather than determining whether it will be cost-effective. In the world of Spirit, there are no price tags…

It reminded me of how I began my journey with writing my children’s books about Frankie.  I remember being so scared to take the journey, but made up my mind I was going to follow my heart for the first time in my life.  Doing so has made me so much less materialistic and helped me to see what really matters in life.  This has been such a beautiful gift.  And this reminder helps me reflect on all the JOY I have experienced in the past five years….I’m so grateful for that Joy.

Have you followed your heart?  If so, I’d love to hear where it has lead you.

Joy is: Unexpected Surprises

Unexpected surprises of the furry kind is what brings me much joy!

Out walking early one morning, deep in thought, crunch, crunch, crunch through the snow, when out of no where a rabbit ran right in front of my path… only a few feet in front of me.

I don’t often see many critters on my early morning winter walks, unlike fall when the squirrels and bunnies are here, there, and everywhere!  So seeing this bunny in quite the scurry brought a smile to my face… and a story began in my head…

Bailey the Bunny was in a hopping flurry as she scurried across the street in the middle of town headed to the Post Office.  In her tiny mouth she carried a very important letter to her Mama named Betty.

The letter carried the very important news of three brand spanking new grand-bunnies arriving just two days ago. Buster, Baxter, and Bella.  “Oh Mama! The bunny babes are oh so beautiful, but I need your help to keep up with the pace of a bustling brood!” Bailey cried.  “Please come quick,” she pleaded.

Lickety-split the new mama bunny hopped to the top of the mailbox, and dropped her letter in, then dashed back across the street.  Down the side of Brown Bear restaurant she went, almost tracing her very hops from whence she came.

Back to the bustling brood she went… to be the best bunny mama she can be knowing Betty Bunny mama will soon arrive at the front door of her nest to give this very busy and tired mama a rest!

Joy is getting lost in a story made up in the blink of an eye when a critter crosses my path, always wishing I knew what they were thinking and where they were going.

And joy is taking pure delight in making believe even if only for a few moments in life.
