Linda Verville, author of "For Pete’s Sake" kindly offered a review of Frankie’s book. Following is what she had to say:
Thank you so much for sharing Frankie’s extraordinary life. After I read your story, I couldn’t wait to read it to my 8 year old daughter, I knew she was going to love it. Given the fact we’ve always lived with a handicapped dog, I was quite surprised she had so many questions about how Frankie could have overcome her challenges. I think it is a wonderful learning opportunity to be able to "walk in someone else’s shoes" or in Frankie’s case "roll around in someone else’s wheels". You have given the world this great privilege in such a tender and loving way. I am sure your story has generated many other conversations regarding working hard, never giving up, and accepting differences in others. Certainly, all these lessons will help make the lives of people facing adversity more hopeful while helping others to be more tolerant.
We both cracked up at the more personal bodily functions. I laughed because I could literally relate and she laughed, well, because she’s 8 and those things are funny to her. What a wonderful balance of humor and reality.
Thank you, Linda!
