Animals Taught Me That: Book Review

The journey that Dr. Kim Bloomer embarked on with animals since she was a child, portrayed in great detail in Animals Taught Me That are lessons of everyday life.  Kim has gracefully shown us through her sometimes painful past lessons what is gained by simply observing, respecting and loving every creature God has given us.  She had the courage to admit her mistakes, move forward, and share them in Animals Taught Me That so we as a society can learn and return to the real reason we have been blessed with animals on this earth.  I believe Kim continues to this day to share what she knows and continues to learn, all in the name of deep compassion and unconditional love for all of the animal kingdom.  Whether you love animals or not, Animals Taught Me That is a must read for everyone so that we can all live together as God intended… in peace, harmony and respect for one another.

Pet Horoscopes

Ok, so I did not know there were pet horoscopes!  Did you?  Well, if you didn’t, now you know.  I like to read my own horoscope every now and then just for fun.  And I do like to look at what it predicts for the New Year, but I don’t rely on it, but rather ponder what it has to offer.

So I found it intriguing to discover Pet Horoscopes.  So hmmmm, let’s see what my two critters are all about!

Frankie, miniature dachshund, born August 20, 1999 is a Leo

He is the ruler of the pets, «The King of pets.» The Leo pet is very courageous and a good comedian. He is also a lover, he will make a great home pet. Indeed, he is proud. He needs to be the center of attention.

This is pretty right on for Frankie.  She is the ruler of pets, or as we call her, “The Queen” of our household.  I would agree she is courageous adapting to wheels after her back injury.  She is a great home pet that is for sure.  Wherever I go, there she is, always at my side.  I never feel alone.  And as far as needing to be the center of attention, well, I think she was BORN to be the center of attention, of which she does this quite well.  And how interesting her talent is acting considering we do what we do with our books and promoting disabled animals… so yes, this all pretty much sums up little Frankie.

Well, I would not say Kylie is jealous or any of the negative qualities listed… because she is a very laid back, go with the flow type dog.  I would agree on the handsome features, as everyday, and I’m not kidding, but everyday I tell her how beautiful she is.  I also believe Kylie has great passion and deep emotions as this horoscope says.  And especially the hypnotic charm.  Kylie can always make me stop and pause, take a deep breath, and relax no matter what.  She is definitely my dog who helps me stay centered and calm and I just love that about her.

Thank you for Mary Shafer of Almost Perfect Pets for alerting me to this video. As she stated, it is hard to watch in the beginning… your heart will break… but it will soar when you see what love can do.  I keep trying to understand or figure out how in the world someone could ever abuse an animal… and there is just NO understanding, because this should NEVER be. Please share this with others so we can bring more awareness to abuse of animals and hopefully someday  SOON we can STOP all this madness on these innocent creatures that God gave us to teach us love, patience, kindness, compassion… and most all, forgiveness.
