Kylie The Dog with A Huge Heart

Kylie The Dog with A Huge Heart
Kylie The Dog with A Huge Heart (and her pesty sidekick Gidget)

When I brought Gidget home from a rescue in Las Vegas, she hated being in a kennel. She’d chew apart any bedding or blanket that was inside and she practically flew out the end when I came home to let her out.

But Kylie’s kennel?  Well, that she loves. And Kylie, with such a huge heart lets Gidget be Gidget — which isn’t always easy to put up with when one said little dog who can be quite demanding at times for attention and having things her way (typical doxie style!).

Gidget goes in streaks where the minute Kylie is out of her kennel, she lets herself in. And then there are the times even if Kylie is in her safe, happy place in her kennel, well, no matter, Gidget barges in on her space.

Gidget does not seem to know her boundaries, but luckily for her, big yellow dog with a heart as huge as Texas, never seems to mind the intrusion.

I can’t say as I’d be the same. Boundaries are something I’ve worked hard on!

Sunshine on the Street

Sunshine on the Street. Spreading Love, Kindness and Joy.
My sign this year- Kindness Matters

The second annual “Sunshine on the Street” was held today in a neighboring city from where I live. The idea of Dr. Cindy Munson of Chiro-Health Care Center and her staff as a way of spreading love, joy and kindness.

All downtown businesses are invited to participate by making signs and standing outside their business for a half hour over lunch to make passerby’s smile and light up the downtown with lots of sunshine.

Such an easy and fun way to spread happiness! Hope you enjoy the short video as my way of helping to spread the happiness even further.

This Song Melted My Heart

The song that melted my heart
Gidget enjoying the song about how special wiener dogs are

Last week Thursday I visited Fair Park Elementary school. I had a fantastic time! This school really knows how to put together a dream visit for an author!

As promised, on my blog post about the days events I wrote last week I said I’d share the song the music class sang for me — which music teacher, Terri Kramer wrote just for my visit.

I think you just might understand why it melted my heart! Enjoy!

Lyrics to Doggie in the Window by Terri Kramer (with a little help, of course, from a classic doggie song):

Doggie in the Window

How much is that doggie in the window?

The one with the waggely tail.

How much is that doggie in the window?

I do hope that doggie’s for sale.

VERSE 1

A dachshund is such a cute doggie,

It’s body is so very loooooooong.

But he can help us feel happy

To help us when we’re feeling down

Refrain

VERSE 2

A wiener dogs such a good buddy

A friend in our life that’s for sure.

He’ll lend an ear, give a little snuggle,

With a wiener dog, we can’t go wrong! Arf Arf

Refrain
