Frankie and I took part in the 1st annual “Let’s Move Together” in Sheboygan County for The Arthritis Foundation I did not realize until today that children as young as 4 years old are being diagnosed with arthritis. That is so sad to hear.
The event was held at Cedar Landing, which is a beautiful senior community in Elkhart Lake. There are condo’s that are scattered throughout the loop, which leads back to the senior assisted facility center. We were told three times around the loop was one mile. Well, Frankie and I signed up for the one mile!
We woke up to rain and I was not looking forward to having to walk in it, but ah heck, it would only be for a little bit. Luckily just as 10:00a rolled around the rain disappeared and the sun even tried to peak out. Thank you Mother Nature.
Frankie only made it around the loop twice, and then she did not want to walk anymore. When a dog with tires puts the brakes on, you listen. She was graciously excused from the last loop and thanked for being such a trooper.
The picture below is of Frankie, her new dog friend, Rusty and friend, Katelynn taken before the walk began. Rusty developed an instant crush on Frankie. Being a typical woman she ignored most of his advances. Being a typical male, Rusty never gave up.
It was a great event, and a great way to wake up and feel refreshed on a Saturday morning!
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all mom’s and also to all mom’s to pets… you count too you know! Have a wonderful, joyful day!
