Meet Ruby: She is the 27th Dog The Frankie Wheelchair Fund has Granted a Wheelchair. She is also Available for Adoption!

ruby cJust look at this face!  Ruby is quite the doll and from what I understand from her foster mom, Pat, she is just as sweet as she looks.

The Frankie Wheelchair Fund recently provided funds for this cutie pie so she could have a wheelchair to get around better, and hopefully increase her chances of being adopted.

She is five years old. She was surrendered by her owner in North Carolina because her dad had spinal surgery and her mom’s business was closing. They wanted Ruby to have the best possible care, so they made the very tough decision of letting her go.

She is currently listed for adoption through Dachshund Rescue of North America where you can read more about this darling little girl if you are interested in adopting her.  She is currently being cared for by foster mom extraordinaire, Pat, out of Ohio.

Pat shared with me that Ruby has had laser acupuncture which has Ruby wanting to stand. Pat has also observed Ruby spinal walk a few times so she will be starting water therapy with her. She is doing very well in her cart (wheelchair) as long as the leash is attached.

Pat shared with me that Ruby is a very sweet girl and not at all aggressive, though she does not like other dogs in her face. Ruby LOVES to lay in the sun and always finds her way to a sun spot after breakfast every day.

Note:  Ruby’s wheelchair is custom-made by Eddie’s Wheels for Pets which is the company I believe in and have been working with to provide these wheelchairs to pets in needs. I appreciate the quality and all they do to help these special needs dogs.

As always, I’m very grateful to those who support my mission with donations or purchases made from my partners who donate a portion of proceeds to The Frankie Wheelchair Fund. We have added a new partner recently who makes adorable custom-made dachshund ring holders.
