The Gathering

Nature always has teachings for us if we are open to ‘listening’ and ‘seeing’ in a different way.

These tiny leaves on my deck have been falling from the locust tree next to Joyful Pause Cottage. they have served as a few reflections of late. Normally I’d get the broom out and throughout the fall season, I’d try to keep up on sweeping them away so I don’t drag them into my house or cottage.

But I realized what an effort that is. I was going against the flow. Why not just allow them to be as they are meant to be?

This morning listening to an astrologer on YouTube she was talking about what she sees for our future as a world as we move forward.

What really stopped me in my tracks as I was going about my morning routine was when she said, “We are our own commodity.”

I reflected back to my post from about a week ago titled “Let’s Come Together and Trust.”

It’s then that I realized the leaves were reflecting what the astrologer said and what I’d written about. While they’d been scattered about all over my deck for a few weeks, obviously the winds have shifted, and they are now gathered in these small piles here, there, and everywhere.

They have formed their own little communities. The winds of our world are shifting too. Can you feel it? I have felt it in some ways, though I know it’s going to take time and patience for all of this to come to fruition – that more need to awaken so we can live in more harmony.

It begins with honoring the flow within ourselves, nature, and then together as a world. I’m feeling more hopeful lately that this can happen and that we can experience a world as we’ve never seen before. So those days I feel frustrated or lose hope, I’m going to remember to turn to Mother Nature as a reminder – and to go with the flow and trust.

Let’s Come Together and Trust

This morning I pulled a card from the Wild Offering Oracle by Tosha Silver asking Spirit what it is we need to know for the week:

TRUST

When love is invited to take over, right actions arise at the right time. Allow me, dear Divine, to wait patiently until the timing is right. Let me rest in the unknown until a clear path is shown!

I felt quite emotional reading this as trust is such a big factor in our world right now – I believe it is what we are being called to seriously lean into.

Reflecting on this card’s message these lyrics popped into my mind: Smile on your brother, Everybody get together, Try to love one another, Right now.

I absolutely feel this as a call to stop this ‘side’ or that ‘side’ and coming together to respect each other no matter our choices. I believe more than ever that this is the way forward.

Looking up the lyrics to the rest of the song which is by The Youngbloods (below),  this is further confirmation and what the message is all about for the week. Especially noted is that fear is what will bring us down, but love will carry us through.

Hang in there, friends.

Much love,

Barb  XO

Love is but a song to sing
Fear’s the way we die
You can make the mountains ring
Or make the angels cry
Though the bird is on the wing
And you may not know why

Come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
Right now

Some may come and some may go
We shall surely pass
When the one that left us here
Returns for us at last
We are but a moment’s sunlight
Fading in the grass

Come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
Right now

Come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
Right now

Come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
Right now

If you hear the song I sing
You will understand (listen!)
You hold the key to love and fear
All in your trembling hand
Just one key unlocks them both
It’s there at your command

Come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
Right now

Come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
Right now

I said, come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
Right now

Right now
Right now

Animal Wisdom Reading for October 2021 – Practicing Gratitude & Grace Toward Ourselves

I know! It’s been a while. But alas, here I am again.

There has just been so much going on with trying to keep abreast of it all and also even more importantly practicing self-care to help roll through these times we are experiencing. So much growth opportunity for us all!

John and I were also recently able to get away for five days and took our R-pod camper to central Wisconsin. It was just the reprieve we needed connecting to nature. AND our KOA campground had many stray kitties. These two outside the KOA office just stole my heart. Yes, I wanted to take one home, but my asthma wouldn’t appreciate that.

On our trip away I was reminded once again how vital fresh air is, sunshine, time in nature, and connecting with the animals as so important to our physical, mental, and emotional health.

So for this month’s reading, I continue with the theme of self-care and how vitally, even more than ever it feels, to practice going within and taking good care of ourselves. Because from what I understand from various astrologists I tune into, October is going to be a bumpy ride – though needed in order for new and positive energy to come in.

So I hope you find my message helpful where I share that I too experience my own struggles, but also what is helping me, along with guidance from this month’s animal ally I pull from an animal oracle deck. Click here or below to listen.

Wishing you each so much love and peace in your heart as we continue to walk this journey of so much change in our world…
