Dogs In Heaven? Take a Listen.

A friend from long ago sent me this video of a song her brother Carl wrote years ago and recently recorded.

He was inspired to write it when his dog was about to pass away to try and answer the question many ask, “Do dogs go to heaven?” It is beautiful and I think you just might enjoy it, too.

As for my thoughts? I absolutely believe dogs go to heaven and while I’m not yet ready to leave this earth, I look forward to meeting all my canine friends once again! To me, to be with them, in a place with no worries or fears… well, that surely is heaven!

The Carpenter and the Kitty

The Carpenter and the Kitty

John came home from a job site a few weeks ago where he is doing a kitchen remodel.

He told me about a cat that hangs out with him while he works. Of course, I wanted to know the cats name. He didn’t know.

But the next day he asked the owners. The cats name is Veteran because he showed up on Veteran’s Day a few years ago, and has stayed ever since.

Now, to hear John talk about this cat is where he makes my heart swoon. I can just tell that John loves the company of this sweet cat with the most endearing little face. Does it not look like Veteran is smiling?

Well, I suppose he is smiling just like I am when John tells me about Veteran after he’s been at the job site for the day. He enjoys the company of the little cat who sits quietly and seems to enjoy John’s company, too.

I even think this “tough carpenter” just may miss that sweet little cat when the job is done.

But you know, and don’t tell anyone…. John is really a big ol’ softy on the inside. And when that comes out, like it does when he talks about how he watches out for Veteran… well, as you can imagine, this is exactly what makes my heart melt.

And I fall in love all over again with the man I’ve been with for 36 years now.

Soak Up the Warm Sun Rays While You Can

Soak Up the Warm Sun Rays While You Can

I’ve been experimenting more with John’s camera, a Canon EOS 50D. I’ve been wanting to learn to take better photos for quite some time and signed up for an online class that is self-paced.

When I brought this photo of Gidget up on my computer I loved how soft the light is around her face. The last bit of sun for today, which she was wise to soak up. We are in for heavy rain tonight and into tomorrow before the sun returns on Sunday again.

She is certainly my wise Buddha dog taking in the warmth of the sun rays while she can. I’m glad I took a moment to be with her within that sacred space too when I captured this photo.
