Artists, Friendship, and A Fun Project in the Works

Me and Cassy Tully of Cassy Tully Fine Art at Exchange Bank Coffee House,

Holiday & Friendship Celebration 2011

It’s hard to believe that Cassy and I have only known each other for a little over a year. I feel like I have known her forever. I got to know her more last year after my husband, John commissioned her to do a painting of Frankie as a surprise for our 27th Wedding Anniversary (and boy! was I surprised!). From that point on, Cassy and I became friends.

Today we met for what we called our holiday and friendship celebration. Talking with Cassy, I told her today, is like talking to an old soul. She is very wise for her young age of 28. It’s almost as if she has been here once before. Being in her company is like being high on joy- she is so full of life and I so admire that about her.

Cassy is a very talented artist and to be in the presence of her and her art is like being in heaven. She is a beautiful young spirit. You can learn more about her and her work on her website.  I encourage you to check out her art, especially her growing trees. She writes all the passages for her growing trees- when you read them, you will see why I call her an old soul.  And while you are there check out the amazing painting she did of Frankie (I also have gift cards of the Frankie painting for sale on my website).

I’m very excited that her and I are collaborating on a fun and exciting project for 2012.  She’s been a big support of Frankie and me and our mission, which I can’t thank her enough for. I can’t spill the beans yet, but we are both very excited about our project that we hope will involve sharing writing, reading, and the arts to the schools in our area with a special contest we will be promoting.  So stay tuned…

Cassy Tully-Fine Art Interviews Children’s Author, Barbara Techel

Artist Cassy Tully turned the camera on me after I interviewed her in the last two blog posts on her life as an artist and what it meant for her to paint Frankie.  She now interviews me on what the painting means to me… as well as what my writing studio means to me, and so much more!  Enjoy!

Please note:  The Frankie greeting cards will be available soon on my website.  Once I have them ready for sale I will be sure to let you know via my blog.
