The Dancing Light – A Reminder of Connection

The Dancing Light - A Reminder of Connection

This morning in my writing cottage I can hear the rustling of the leaves as they begin to wither and dry and the sacred sound this makes in the wind – a sound I absolutely love this time of year. And in the background as I get ready to practice my Yoga I discovered a YouTube channel with lovely instrumental autumn music and wanted to share that with you here.

I then noticed the light dancing on a picture I have of Joie. I couldn’t help but feel connected to her in that moment. It feels to me like a reminder of how we can connect with those that are no longer physically here whenever we want. How it is a practice in itself of learning to trust that this connection is absolutely real – trusting in the feeling that moved through my heart in that moment as the light lit up her photo – how my heart connected with Joie’s in that sacred space that only we share.

It brings me to tears as I write this right now. There is some sadness in that I’d love to hold her again, just one more time — especially now as I’ve sent her and my story out into the world — I want to thank her for the gift of being in my life. But alas, I believe I have done that in many ways. And I will continue to by remembering her fondly and with love until someday I too, take my last breath.

Love you, dear little Joie….always.

A Wheelie Dog Gallery of Photos Sure to Make You Smile

It’s not too often that I get updates on disabled dogs that the Frankie Wheelchair Fund has been able to help with a wheelchair – but when I do – oh, how it makes my day!

Suzanne, who cares for dear, sweet Canelo sent me these beautiful photos that clearly show that Canelo is having the time of his life!  All the photos were taken by professional photographer, Maria Oakar of My Buddy Photography. What a great job she did in capturing the joy that these special dogs absolutely do experience despite their special challenges.

Soon I hope to share a photo of Dappy and Molly Mocha – two dachshunds the Frankie Wheelchair Fund recently granted funds to have custom wheelchairs built by Eddie’s Wheels, which makes 58 dogs the fund has been able to help to date.  So stay tuned….and in the meantime, enjoy this gallery of Canelo pictures!

When A Dachshund Becomes a Snail

When a Dachshund Becomes a Snail
Watching out front door

If you’ve ever had a dachshund you will know they take their job very seriously of making sure you will return home as promised. Even if that means you’ve just gone to get the mail, water the gardens, or get something from the car.

It’s quite demanding at times when one said dachshund must leave their comfy bed when one said human opens and walks out the front door. Even if it means they must become a snail, bringing along their “home” (a.k.a blankie) to watch from the front door.

How I could ever not want to return home with this sweet face waiting for me?  Dachshund or snail. no matter, I love you little G.
