As you can see by the photo, and may have already figured it out – yup- this is what a weenie pocket is. Every weenie really ought to have one!

If you know dachshund’s well, most of them love to burrow.  This pocket is just what every weenie needs to snuggle in. It is super soft on the inside and has an adorable fleece as the outer layer.  This particular pattern has the cutest wiener dogs decked out in splashy colored rain boots.  There are other patterns to choose from as you will see on Wendy’s website.

Gidget especially loves her pocket right in front of the woodstove. The other day she was so snug and happy within that I picked up the whole pocket and transported her out to my writing cottage, and plunked her gently in front of my little gas stove. She barely moved an inch and kept on snoring!

This special post and weenie pocket would not have been possible if not for the big heart of a dear dachsie friend, Ms. Linda.  She had this sent as a gift for Gidget and we are most thankful for her kind heart.  You may recall, Linda is the angel who flew on a plane all day last October to bring Joie to me when I adopted her from Oregon Dachshund Rescue.  There are some pretty amazing and sweet people in the world and Linda is absolutely someone very special.
