Lipton Gets New Quad Dog Wheelchair and a New Lease on Life

Lipton Gets New Quad Dog Wheelchair and a New Lease on Life
Lipton receives new wheelchair thanks to the Frankie Wheelchair Fund. Learn more at nationalwalknrolldogday.com

Meet Lipton!  He is well loved and taken care of by Georgeanne from Evo and Eli’s Love Box sanctuary.

The cart Lipton had before this was too heavy and cumbersome and didn’t allow for him to move more freely about.

Quad carts can run a bit more than your average smaller cart – usually over $500, which can be a chunk for a sanctuary to come up with because of all the animals they try and help.

So The Frankie Wheelchair Fund was happy to help fund a new set of wheels for this sweet, adorable guy.

And I was even happier when I got this email from Georgeanne:  “Thank you so much for Lipton’s cart. It is wonderful. It’s light weigh which encourages him to try and move it. Again we can not thank you enough.”

Way to go, Lipton! We wish you many more quality years of living life the best way that you can.

And so happy to say Lipton makes the 49th dog the fund has been able to help!!  Stay tuned for Maui and Alexs coming soon!… celebrate with us and we hit the wonderful mark of over 50 dogs helped!

The Frankie Wheelchair Fund works with Eddie’s Wheels for Pets, having them build custom carts for paralyzed dog carts we fund. It’s because of my personal experience with them and the superior quality of their carts, along with their excellent customer service, that I continue to feel so good about working with, and recommending them.

Opening to Magic Led to “Magical Dogs”

Opening to Magic Led to "Magical Dogs"

When 2015 began, I chose a word for the year — really, just for fun to see what would happen — and with an intention or two just for good measure.

The word I chose was magical. I’ve been astounded at how often it has showed up these past twelve months.

Elizabeth Gilbert wrote and came out with Big Magic and my friend gifted me a copy — and that was pretty exciting! BTW:  It’s a fantastic book if you are a creative.

Little snippets of magic showed up all year long, here and there. And then today came a very magical moment….

Having shared my story about my journey with Frankie earlier this year for an upcoming book by author Patti Kerr called, Magical Dogs ( I know, can you believe the title?) – I was given first sneak peek at the final cover today.

Recognize anyone on the cover?  Hint:  She’s red and has a nice set of wheels.

Now I’d have to say this is my most memorable magical moment for 2015! It’s truly an honor to know that Frankie’s legacy continues to find its way out into the world.

And it makes me think about synchronicity which I love being open to — and how setting intentions can vibrate out into the world and return to you in ways you’d never even expect!

Now that is magic! Pure magic!

I’ll be sure to announce right here when the book is published. It’s in its final stages of editing, so it shouldn’t be too long now.

Come Meet Sammy! Granted a Wheelchair from The Frankie Wheelchair Fund (and available for adoption!)

Come Meet Sammy! Granted a Wheelchair from The Frankie Wheelchair Fund (and available for adoption!)

Can you say cuteness overload? Sammy’s one ear cocked to the side really gets to my heart as it reminds me of how Gidget’s one ear does the same thing.  As if she has a wire in her ear!

I learned about Sammy from Sarah of The Smoothe Store, who was instrumental in helping raise funds this past September for The Frankie Wheelchair Fund- raising $3,500!  Woo hoo!

With the help of Sarah and money raised, we were able to help Sammy currently with Dachshund Rescue of South Florida with a wheelchair.

I think it’s pretty safe to say that Sammy is oober happy in his brand new shiny wheels!  Seeing faces like Sammy just sends oodles of love to my heart.

And you can see just how fast he is in his wheels with this video on his foster mom Sandi’s Facebook page.

Want to bring Sammy into your life?  He is available for adoption!!

Stay tuned to meet Cricket soon!
