Update from The Fuzzy Pet Foundation:

Thank you, everyone, for rooting for Team TFPF as we rescued Darla and flew with her on an airplane to the Hamlin Family in Connecticut! WE DID IT! Darla is now in a happy home with mom and dad, and two canine siblings.

TFPF is truly grateful to our fosters, Ryan and his warm-hearted family, our adoptions chair, Connie, Barbara Techel and The Frankie Wheelchair Fund, Ruth Torres for overseeing Darla’s initial home-check, JetBlue flight attendant Danielle who donated her Buddy Passes to make this trip possible, Eldad Hagar and Hope for Paws, Eddie’s Wheels, and Your Elegant Pet and Melissa for their grooming services. Thank you to our loyal supporters and donors who have helped us every step of the way!

Last but not least, we are grateful to the Hamlin family for their compassion and willingness to go through TFPF’s long, extensive screening process to ensure Darla’s safety and happiness; and for opening their hearts and home to a special-needs animal.

Jenny and Debbie of WCUB Radio–Long Time Fans of Frankie–Now Meet Joie

debbie, jenny and joie wcubYesterday was my third appearance on WCUB Radio.  They have been wonderful supporters of my work and mission, helping me spread the word about Intervertebral Disc Disease, National Walk ‘N Roll Dog Day, the Frankie Wheelchair Fund, and now my new book.  Jenny and Debbie, sisters who work at the radio station, have been long time Frankie fans.  Jenny has a darling little weenster named Willie who is blind.

It was fun introducing Jenny and Debbie to Joie yesterday and I guess you could say she wiggled her way right into their hearts too.  Joie was a little anxious in the waiting area, but once I settled her onto my lap for the interview, she was a really good girl and was quiet as a mouse.

I’m thankful for WCUB Radio and their support– but most of all, thankful to call Jenny and Debbie friends.  They are wonderful young ladies!  And to top it off they came bearing gifts for Joie and Kylie who are both enjoying their bright orange and bright pink new stuffed pals.

Video: Paralyzed Dachshund, Darla Now Has Quality of Life thank you to The Fuzzy Pet Foundation, The Frankie Wheelchair Fund & Eddie’s Wheels

A few weeks ago I shared with you that Darla a paralyzed dachshund at The Fuzzy Pet Foundation was the recipient of a wheelchair through the Frankie Wheelchair Fund and Eddie’s Wheels.  Well, wait until you see the video of her! Be still my heart!  Grab a tissue… or two… or three… and be ready to smile, cry and have your heart ooze over with love.

If you’d like to help in my efforts in helping paralyzed dogs in rescue that are in need of a wheelchair, please visit National Walk ‘N Roll Dog website where the Frankie Wheelchair Fund is set up for contributions.  To date the fund, because of the generosity of others has helped fourteen dogs!  Thank you!!
