Frankie Visits Wrightstown School & Makes the Paper

September 18th Frankie and I visited kindergarten and 2nd grade classes at Wrightstown Elementary school.  Amy and her children met Frankie and I at Butterfly Bookstore in DePere during the summer.  They were so inspired by Frankie's story their family wanted to host us at their school.  Amy's family bought a book for each child in kindergarten and 2nd grade and I was touched and honored for their generosity and support.

Here is the link to the story done in the Wrightstown Area Spirit paper.  Frankie and I can't say enough how we appreciate the warm, kind, thoughtful support…

The Heat Is On

Summer in hanging on.  It is about 80 degress today.  One of Frankie’s favorite things to do is hang out on the deck.  Here she is soaking up every last ounce of sun.

Did I mention it is 80 degrees out?  So you may be wondering why on earth I have my stove on?  Well, after almost one year, it was finally hooked up today.  WAHOO!  So, ALL my windows are wide open, while I burn out the first smells of my gas stove.  Then it will be already to go on that first cool day when the snowflakes fall from the sky.

Dachshund Buddies

Over the weekend Frankie’s little buddy, Kirby stayed with us.  Kirby came from the same breeder as Frankie.  He is five years old.  Kirby belongs to a friend of mine.  Years ago, after falling in love with Frankie, my friend Marc wanted a wiener dog too.  Kirby and I share the same birthday, July 18th, so that makes it even more special.  Kirby ADORES Frankie as only a male dachshund can do… if you know what I mean.  He may be neutered, but that does not stop him from loving Frankie as much as he can.  Frankie loves Kirby, but I’m sure she will relish in her “alone time” now that he has gone home again.  Kirby is a character, just as all dachshunds are.  All I know is I love ’em all… they are a great breed and I’m so glad to know Kirby and have Frankie for my very own.
