Loss of A Heart-Dog Poem

I recently joined the Rainbow Bridge group page on Facebook.  They have this beauiful poem on their page, so I wanted to share.

LOSS OF A HEART-DOG

I stood by your bed last night,
I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying,
You found it hard to sleep.

I whined to you softly
as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you,
I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here".

I was close to you at breakfast,
I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times,
Your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at the shops today,
Your arms were getting sore,
I longed to take your parcels,
I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today,
You tend it with such care.
I want to reassure you,
That I'm not lying there.

I walked with you towards the house,
As you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you,
I smiled and said "It's me".

You looked so very tired,
And sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know,
That I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be,
so near you every day.
To say to you with certainty,
"I never went away".

You sat there very quietly,
Then smiled, I think you knew…
In the stillness of that evening,
I was very close to you.

And when the day is over…
I smile and watch you yawning,
And say "Goodnight, God Bless you,
I'll see you in the morning".

And when the time is right for you
To cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you,
And we'll stand side by side.

I have so many things to show you,
There is so much for you to see,
Be patient, live your journey out…
Then come home to be with me.

Coming Soon! Virtual Classroom Visits with Frankie, the Walk ‘N Roll Dog!

This is soooo exciting!  I imagined this about a year ago and wondered if it could be done… well, it is the up and coming thing for authors to offer;  Virtual visits/presentations via Skype.  Now teachers can bring authors and students together with the help of technology.  It is a win-win situation for all involved.  Cost effective for both schools and authors, and the students can learn valuable insight from authors around the world! You can read what Publishers Weekly had to say about this fascinating new option!  I took part in a pilot program with a school in Canada with Q & A from the students.  Click here to read what Karen Keys, District Media Specialist of shool in Canada had to say about my Skype session with her students.

I now will be able to offer a way to show my powerpoint and do a full presentation to students.  I am currently working out the details. So it won’t be long and I will be announcing my Skype Virtual Visits so students can learn about Frankie, which will instill in them compassion, integrity and hope, as well as help them face their challenges with a positive attitude.  This is pretty much the same presentation I now offer our local schools, but it will be done via webcam and Skype.

So please do stay tuned!  If you have friends or family that are elementary teachers please encourage them to sign up for Frankie’s updates on our website so they are first to know when we launch these visits!… or to follow along on my blog!
