Sunbathing Weenie

IMG_2113[1] 12

It seems as if this ledge was made for just the right sized weenie. Not too narrow and not too wide to fit this 9 lb., 12- inch long sausage dog.

The perfect spot at the end of a hard working day of napping in my writing cottage. Miss G loves this time to soak in a bit of the sun beating down from the west.

You can almost smell the sausage baking, can’t you? Mmm. Mmm. good.

Well, I could eat up this little love in terms of squeezing her tight and smooching the sides of her snout at least one thousand times a day. It never gets old.

The sunbathing weenie, that she is. Soaking it up for as long as she can as we make our way toward fall right around the corner.

Did Someone Say Snow?

2014-02-16 08.52.53 eWe are under a winter storm warning. 4-8 inches expected by 8pm tonight. I think Gidget has the right idea snuggled into her weenie pocket. As for me, well, I’m snuggled in my 10 x 12 writing cottage getting ready to write another chapter for my new book, Joie’s Gift-Finding Purpose in the Pause.  Perfect weather to get lost in writing– though Gidget’s plan is a good one, too.

Half Way Through. A Reminder to Take One Day at a Time

snug as a bug eHalf way through January.  Just when I find myself wanting to whine about the cold and snow, I catch a glimpse of Gidget all snuggled in.  This makes me smile.

I’m longing for flip flops, skirts, t-shirts and fun in the sun. But I don’t want to wish my days away either.

I do love the quiet of winter. Lots of time to read. Lots of time to concentrate on my writing. Spring and summer I tend to find myself a little more easily distracted and pulled in more directions.

Gidget snuggled in her doxie blanket reminds me to soak in the slower pace.

The winter makes me appreciate the Spring. Spring makes me appreciate the summer. Summer makes me appreciate fall.

The cycles of the seasons are reminders to me of the blessings that each season offers.  Without fail they all cycle back again.

Gidget, my little inspiration, to see all that is good in this moment and all the blessings yet to come. Sweet dreams little one.
