Meet Lilli, “Five and Alive!”

Meet another beautiful wheelchair doxie, Lilli!  The above picture is Lilli celebrating her 5th birthday which was April 10th.  Happy Birthday, Lilli!!

Lilli’s mom, Vicky wrote to me and said:  “I referenced Lilli’s photo (above) as 5 and alive!”  It is just a short year ago that Lilli was brought into rescue.  Her birthday was very special to me since I worked with the owner surrender, fostered her and eventually adopted her.  It is so hard from me to imagine that if things went down a different path, Lilli would not be here today.  Knowing Lilli how I do, I just can’t understand how someone would want to let her go, but worse willing to put her to sleep because of her disability.”

As you can see in the snow photo, Lilli also loves the snow… unlike my Frankie who does not care too much for it.  Vicky’s mom says, “Lilli loves to go outside to bark and venture around the yard no matter the weather.”

Thank goodness for the angel named Vicky that came into Lilli’s life.  I have no doubt that Lilli has blessed Vicky beyond any words I could adequately express… as I know all to well how blessed I feel to have Frankie in my life.  Keep on rolling, Vicky and Lilli!

Quote of the Day

I just loved this quote when I received it from a friend, who said I should pass it on to 12 more friends… well, thought I'd post it here and share with LOTS more friends.  ENJOY!

"May today there be peace within.  May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be.  May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others.  May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.  May you be content with yourself just the way you are.  Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.  It is there for each and every one of us."  ~Author Unknown

Meet another “walk ‘n roll dog” named Frankie

Could it really be?  Another walk ‘n roll dog named Frankie?  Of course it could be!  This is Frankie from Minnesota!  This Frankie happens to be a boy though.  Nothing against boys!  As you know, my walk ‘n roll Frankie is a girl (short for Francesca!)

Frankie’s mom, Chris wrote to me a few months ago when Frankie went down.  As you can imagine, she was quite distraught and had much to do and think about for her little Frankie.  She updates us once an awhile and sent this photo above of sweet little Frankie.  We think he is a doll!  Wouldn’t it be cute if the two Frankie’s got married?  Hee Hee

Even though tough at the beginning of Frankie’s ordeal, Chris is making the best of it and my Frankie and I are so proud of her!!  Here is some of what she had to say:

“He is all over the place with his wheels.  He eats, drinks, and plays. He’s learned to get around furniture and go backwards.  He has started wagging his tail again.  He loves it when I work his legs and muscles in the tub.  He nearly falls asleep and his head starts bobbing everywhere.  He and I have snuggle time on the couch at night.  He lays right behind my legs.  That is the only time that he lays on his back, but every time I lay on the couch he is right behind my legs on his back with all four legs up in the air.  He’s funny.

Well, I just wanted to update you and thank you again for inspiring me (us) to keep our Frankie alive.”

Just more proof that these little ones absolutely make the best of life no matter what!  We can learn so much from our pets… and Frankie is another example of letting nothing get in the way of playing, sleeping, eating and being a dog!  Keep on rolling, Frankie!!
