I was truly honored to be among Dawn Kairns, up for the Merial Human-Animal Bond Award from Dog Writer’s Association of America this past February. Personally, I wish Dawn, Jenny and I could have ALL won!  But I consider all of us winners because now we each know of each other and help support one another.  See, another beautiful example of dogs bringing humans together.  I just love it.

Dawn feels like a kindred spirit to me because of her love of dogs and her deep understanding of their teachings.  It is my hope to meet her one day— I have a feeling we could talk for hours!

Speaking of children. Since Charlotte’s blog is children’s dog books just had to share these photo’s with you (below).  A teacher from Canada sent me these explaining a 9-year old sweet little girl was so excited when she came to class the other day!  She had made her very own “Frankie” she told her teacher with her Littlest Pet Shop Dog.  Dealing her own challenges having juevenille diabetes, it was heart-warming to know she made a special connection with Frankie!  I LOVE receiving stories like these!!
