To the Max Blog Stop

Wed, June 3 — Ellen publishes her interview with Barbara at To the Max, where she writes about parenting and life, including her beautiful son who has cerebral palsy.

Thank you, so much, Ellen for having me on your blog today.  I'll never forget meeting Jackson, a 3-year old little boy who has a form of cerebral palsy.  He was having difficulty wearing his night brace.  After meeting Frankie he now refers to his brace as his "Frankie brace."  To know Frankie made a difference in the life of little Jackson is something I will remember always.  It is one of the reasons I wanted to reach out to other parents out there with kids with special needs to see if Frankie could have a positive effect on other children.  If Frankie could make their lives just a bit easier, it would be an honor.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

If you know of anyone who would like to adopt two special dogs, please let them know about a doxie and heeler that were found together.  Sue Rabeaux of Lafayette, LA found these sweet dogs.  No one has claimed them.  If you can help, please let her know, http://www.flickr.com/photos/mycatranch/tags/foundmay13/

Today’s Blog Tour Stop!

Dr. Kim Bloomer is a naturopathic vet, and I think she is fantastic!  I was on her radio show last year, and will be again this summer (July 8th!) promoting my new book, Frankie, the Walk 'N Roll Therapy Dog Visits Libby's House, which will be out early 2010.

Today we visit Dr. Kim and Shadrach! This was such a fun interview… well, of course, cause a dog interviewed us!!

Tue, June 2 — Veterinarian Dr. Kim Bloomer and her mastiff Shadrach posts Shadrach's interview with Frankie at Bark 'n Blog

Also recently a friend shared with me that her dog just went blind at the age of 7.  She told me about a website dedicated to helping owners with blind dogs, so I wanted to pass that along.  There was also a great article posted by The Fun Times Guide to Dogs blog about What's It Like Living with an Old Blind and Deaf Dog, so thought I'd share that as well.

I was honored Elizabeth asked me to share with her readers how Frankie’s book could help kids who have friends or siblings with disabilities.  Helping them to realize that kids (and dogs!) with challenges simply want to fit in and to be loved just like anyone else.

One of the biggest lessons I learned from my wheelchair-bound dog, Frankie, is that she never changed through her whole ordeal.  She looks a little different now with the tires…read more
