I Wish I Were a Dog… So I Never Had to Go Bra Shopping

full face shot

There are many reasons I sometimes wish I could be a dog. And of course, yes, a dog in a good home.

As I went shopping for a new bra recently I found myself becoming so frustrated. All the promises on those labels and the choices- push up, lightly padded, gel, full coverage, etc. – oh dear! The one promise that really caught my attention and made me chuckle was “Put the girls back where they belong.” Yup, that is exactly what I was on the hunt for.

Ok, so yes,  they did put the “girls” back where they belong, but I’m not about to walk around feeling like I am wearing a suit of armor.  I must have tried on close to fifty bras on my first outing!  After the jump around and bend over test, and nothing fit right, I wanted to just say the heck with it all. I swear men are making these bras!

Then as I often do as I go about my day, I think about what I’ll write about for my next blog post. I began to laugh to myself as I thought about my next title post, “I wish I were a Dog… So I Never Had to Go Bra Shopping.” I also thought about how my dogs continually teach me to be happy with who I am. I decided I was just being too hard on myself wanting what I had when I was younger. That is not possible. And then I’d have to give up all the other wonderful things of getting older and I don’t want that either.

Thinking about my dogs and how they live life with none of these worries, it brought me back to a good place in my mind. As I went bra shopping again two days ago, I went with a good attitude, accepted what is, and lo and behold, found a few bra’s I actually liked. Or maybe it was just bound to happen after trying on umpteen million! But I was also armed with the peace making choices my dogs have taught me and I was glad for the reminder.

This rolling doxie has so much love to give! And as a loving tribute to all the ‘downed’ doxie’s that we have ever loved, 100% of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to the Walk ‘N Roll Dog Day to benefit the Frankie Wheelchair Fund. Barbara Techel of Joyful Paws (author of Frankie the Walk ‘N Roll Dog) started this last year as a memorial fund after Frankie’s passing. Her mission is to help dogs in need to get their wheelchairs so they may live long, happy, quality lives.

This adorable doxie was meticulously hand-sculpted and detailed from premium quality clay. All of my creations are heirloom-quality, and they are finished with layers of protective, water-based glaze. Cleaning is always a breeze with a soft, damp cloth.

Quoted shipping charge includes insurance against damage and loss via USPS Priority Mail. Due to the fragile nature of this piece, combined shipping with another item is not offered.

The little sweetheart is ready to go home with you today! Can you think of someone special that would appreciate a cutie pie with a rose, love letter on a silver tray, and an assortment of sweet treats on Valentine’s Day?  Order here if you’d like to have this sweet one roll home to you!

A very special thank you to Grace for her love of our special rolling dachshunds and her wonderful generosity!!

Update on Sassy, the Dachshund, and Double Amputation Surgery

Earlier this month in a post I shared with you the sweet and lovable, Sassy.  She was born with twisted back legs. After many different things done to help her little legs not have open sores, as well as many different wheelchairs to fit her (which didn’t fit quite right due to her twisted legs), surgery to remove her back legs was the last option.

She came home yesterday and is doing very well after the surgery. See for yourself!

Ward and Cheri of LovelyLoaves animal sanctuary where Sassy has a permanent home mentioned on their Facebook page that Sassy was happy to be snuggled into her own blankets. They were also so happy to see her looking so great!  And they said, “We promise many photos and a full update to come after we all get re-settled and re-situated. Full body pics and centerfolds. ;-)”

Thank you to everyone who was able to chip in for her surgery and for everyone that has been praying for this sweet little one. She is quite special as you can see… and so loved by many.
