Well Wishes for a Young Robin

A young robin learning to navigate the world. Right now he is hiding out on my front porch under a chair, behind some planters, and tweeting up a storm waiting for one of the parents to hear him and bring food.

It is quite the commotion here this morning as our road is being repaved. I admit it’s hard sometimes to not want to interfere and ‘help,’ but this is a case of trusting that all will be well.

What I can do is send all good wishes to this young one for a safe journey into this world!

XO,
Barb

A Double Blessing in the April Snow

A Double Blessing in the April Snow

I was going to title this post “A Blessing in the April Snow” until I pulled this photo up on my computer I took this morning.

I was excited to see a cardinal at my feeder and so pretty he looks in the snow, even though I wish we weren’t having snow.

But he made me smile. And then I realized looking at the photo that I caught in the lens a bird in flight to the feeder. It looks as if the cardinal is saying, come on in and get some grub!

A double blessing on this snowy day in April!

And the bird action today is remarkable — which I guess is a triple blessing, I should add. Junco’s,  cardinals, woodpeckers, sparrows and yellow finches are busy flitting about on our deck and on the feeders.

No doubt filling up to stay warm for this brief return of winter to Wisconsin in spring.
