Enter Your Dog in Our Photo Contest- To Celebrate & Support National Walk ‘N Roll Dog Day September 22, 2012

National Walk ‘N Roll Dog Day, founded by yours truly will celebrate it’s first year this Saturday, September 22!  I created this day to continue to bring a positive face to all dogs in wheelchairs and to help educate others that they can live long, quality lives with their wheels.  I also want to continue to help educate others that Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD)- like Frankie had- is not a death sentence.  Frankie zoomed around in her wheels for six years, never really realizing her back end was wheels- she just knew that she could be a dog again and that was all that mattered.

I’d love for you to join in the celebration!  Have a dog?  Got a camera?  Well, great then all you have to do is print out one of the signs below and have your dog pose with it.  If you have a dog in a wheelchair than print out the first one.  If you and your dog support all the furry wheelie dogs out there, then print out the second sign (save the image to your computer by right clicking and save image as- then find image on your computer and print out as 8.5 x 11).  Check out all the dogs who have already entered the contest on our Facebook page.  I’ll bet you’ll saw awwwww at least once!!   If you don’t have a dog, we’d love your support by simply stopping by the Facebook page and “liking” it.  To see the prizes we are giving away visit the photo contest detail page on our website.

GET READY FOR THE CONTEST WHICH OFFICIALLY BEGINS SEPTEMBER 16,  

BY READING INSTRUCTIONS BELOW AND START TAKING YOUR PICTURES!

First,  right click on one of the following signs below (if you have a walk n dog, print that one, if not, print the one saying you support walk ‘n roll dogs).  Then save image to your computer.  Find saved image and print out being sure to print out as the full size of 8.5 x 11. You must have your dog pose with one of the signs below to be eligible to win.  As you can see to the left, here is my dog Kylie who was glad to oblige to help out a good cause in memory of her little sister, Frankie the Walk ‘N Roll Dog.

Second, take photo with appropriate sign with your dog.  Have fun!

STARTING SEPTEMBER 16:

Go to our  facebook page and “like” the page if you have not already done so.  Then click on photos tab and then click on album titled NWNRDD 2012.  Then add your photo to the album.  You can start posting on Sept. 16th at midnight and post until midnight on Sept. 21st.

All entries are eligible and will be entered into our drawing!  We are giving away three prizes!  Winners will be chosen using www.random.org.   Contest open to US citizens only.  Winners will be posted on our Facebook page on September 22, 2012.  You will have seven days from posting to notify us if you are one of the winners and provide us with your mailing address for your prize.  If we don’t hear from winner(s) within seven days another winner(s) will be chosen.

Meet Daysi- The Second Recipient of the Frankie Wheelchair Memorial Fund

Daysi is the second recipient of the Frankie Wheelchair Memorial Fund!   Her friend, Astrid heard about the special fund started in Frankie’s memory to help families in financial need so their dog can get a wheelchair if need be (also helps dogs in rescue get a wheelchair) so she contacted us for her friend’s dog, Daysi who needed help.  Daysi’s wheels went all the way to Puerto Rico!

The fund is set up through Eddie’s Wheels in Frankie’s memory and is helping other dogs who may need wheelchairs.  It makes my heart sing to know Daysi will now live a long, happy, quality life with her wheels.
