My Friend Sassy of LoveyLoaves & WagAware Campaign

sassy

I’ve long admired the tireless work LoveyLoaves sanctuary does – a place just for dogs with special needs.

Like Sassy in the photo above, born without back legs. She’s been through a lot, but with the love and nurturing from Lovey Loaves, she not only survives, but is thriving.

When not being all silly for the camera, she has a set of wheels which she is super fast in and loves to use for exploring.

My way of spreading the word about their good work is letting you know of a special campaign they are doing right now.

And it’s a cool charm that you can get for your dog or perhaps your keychain!

WagAware makes these fun, glow in the dark charms with a portion of the proceeds benefiting help for many animals and different organizations around the world.  From now through 9/20, 50% of the profits will go to Lovey Loaves.

So if you want to help a special needs dog and get a cool charm for your dog, do check it out today!

Nimby in a Dog Wheelchair Still Needs a Home

Nimby is a dog that The Frankie Wheelchair Fund was able to donate a wheelchair custom made Eddie’s Wheels, a few months ago.

The final leg of his journey is to find him a forever home. As you will see in the video he is so full of spunk and life.

Please do pass along his video if you know of someone who could give him a home for the rest of his life.

Nimby Receives Wheelchair from Frankie Wheelchair Fund. Now He Needs a Forever Home.

nimbyBecause of the generosity of others, Nimby is the newest (and 40th!) disabled dog, The Frankie Wheelchair Fund was able to donate a portion of the cost so Nimby could be mobile. As you can see, Nimby was born without front limbs.

And this is the first “front wheel drive” wheelchair we’ve helped with, so it is very exciting!

Nimby is currently being lovingly taken care of by The Fuzzy Pet Foundation located in CA. Even if you are not from that area, transportation is often available. Please email them at info@tfpf.org if you are interested in adopting Nimby. You can also find them on Facebook.

You may recall this is the same rescue where Darla the dachshund (a.k.a. Monkey Butt) was taken in and the Frankie Wheelchair Fund was also able to help her with a wheelchair. Darla now has a very loving family who fostered another dog in a wheelchair, Doolittle. And I just learned Doolittle has found his forever home, too!

So if Nimby would be a good fit for your family, please contact the Fuzzy Pet Foundation today – his wheels will come with him, so a family does not have the added expense of that. Win-Win-Win!
