Something Special this Holiday

I’m taking my cue from another author, who like me, finds it hard to be sales-y, pushy, or annoying. But as an author, and it being the holidays I kindly ask that if you have someone on your list that fits in one of the above categories that you might consider my books. So please pardon me while I begin with a heart felt “commercial.”

While yes, I am promoting my books, I also say from the deepest of my heart to know Frankie’s legacy carries on for generations to come, and knowing the positive affect she has on those reading her story through my books truly warms my heart, as well as those receiving them, are uplifted and inspired. It continues to be my hope to be a positive voice for dogs with IVDD and dogs in wheelchairs, as well as inspire young and old to see their challenges as stepping stones to something even greater.

While I do have my books for sale on my website, I’m making this offer available only for anyone ordering through Amazon or Barnes and Noble because I know so often you can take advantage of free shipping as well as if you order two or all three of my books they can discount as a package deal (at least I know Amazon does that).  And I’ve come up with something to offer anyone purchasing my books as a sweet thank you…

I will personalize a bookplate for the person you are giving the book(s), which you can affix to the title page.

**EXTRA SWEET BONUS** I have a very limited amount of 6-pack magnet sets of Frankie in her wheelchair set in three colors or of Frankie in three of her favorite outfits. I will include one set of these for anyone purchasing two or more of my books (first come, first serve and I’ll make choice of which set to send).  These are a $9.00 value.

1.)  Buy a copy of one of my books (or two or all three!) for that someone special

2.)  Send me a copy of the receipt by email to barb (at) joyfulpaws (dot) com (forward me the email invoice or scan and email) with the subject line, “Bookplate”

3.)  Make sure you also include in the email:
–the name of the person who’s receiving the book so I can personalize the bookplate (if you buy multiple books, I’ll personalize a bookplate for each)
—your mailing address

4.)  Then you just need to wait for them to arrive in the mail!

DETAILS

–I’ll cover the cost of postage for the bookplates and/or magnet set for US residents only (I don’t mean to exclude Canada or out of the country folks, but given cost of postage to mail as well as in time for holiday gift giving I can only make this offer for US residents)
–Deadline for emailing me a copy of your receipt is WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 12th.  Bookplates and/or magnet sets will be mailed on Friday, the 15th so there should be plenty of time to receive in time for Christmas

My Book Cover Revealed: “Through Frankie’s Eyes”–Let’s Celebrate with a Giveaway!

I’m so excited to share this with all of you! After months of giving thought to the best and right decision, I finally chose this cover for my book, Through Frankie’s Eyes: One Woman’s Journey to Her Authentic Self, and the Dog on Wheels Who Led the Way coming February 2013.  Thank you to Derek Murphy of Creative Indie for working with me and answering my oodles of questions until I felt comfortable with this final choice.  In tomorrow’s post I’ll share my reasons for choosing this as my cover and how “analysis paralysis” almost stopped me from picking one at all!

But now it is time to celebrate!!

Therapy Dogs Calendar Featuring Frankie the Walk ‘N Roll Dog. To Benefit Sheboygan Cancer Care Fund.

One of the last projects I participated in with Frankie is the “Sophie and Friends” 2013 Therapy Dogs calendar.  Each month this calendar features a photo of a local (Sheboygan County, WI) therapy dog, also friend to Sophie the therapy dog who you see looking adoringly at a senior she loved to visit in the cover shot.  Lisa Lehmann, local photographer, donated her time and labor of love to capture all these special dogs.

I’m happy and honored to say that Frankie is the feature for February.  Rather fitting I think as she was my sweetheart, as well as a sweetie to many of her friends and fans.  If you are interested in this calendar which profits will benefit a local cancer care fund, I have a special offer for you.  I will stamp Frankie’s authentic paw print and sign her motto on the month she is featured in, which will make your calendar even more unique.  If you are interested please submit your order no later than November 30th.  All orders will ship on or around December 3rd.

Both Sophie and Frankie were well known in our community for their inspirational work. Sophie did many fashion shows for seniors and she was quite the hit.  Sophie passed away in May from congestive heart failure, and as many of you know, Frankie passed from the same disease in June.  I have a feeling they are both in heaven being the perfect angel therapy dogs.
