Owl Asks Us Who We Wish to Be

As the world shakes and rumbles with its deep state of pain and fear being unleased all around us, Owl beckons us to remember to come back to what is our truth – tapping into that wise inner self when things around us feel out of control is what we can take control of as a way of enacting peace.

An owl can turn its head 270 degrees. I like that as a reminder for us that we too must see and look all around us and while we may not agree or understand the different views or what is transpiring, we can work to accept that it is all playing out as a way for each of us to come back home to ourselves and what really matters. The more each of us can do this, the more we can tilt this planet back to a place of peace.

Looking at the Owl card, part of the background design caught my eye – no pun intended – as I saw what looks to me as many eyes closed. I heard in my mind, sit as still as you can among the chaos and uncertainty of the outside world and be assured that true and lasting peace only, and always, comes from within.

What a different world it would be if we hadn’t lost our way so many thousands of years ago when we knew then that the only true and real answers come from trusting in our intuition. It’s the tool of navigation I believe owl is trying to help us get back to and we can begin right here and now.

Owl is also reminding us we can each play our part in practicing being in the darkness by closing our eyes, feeling what we need to feel within our own space of self – instead of projecting it – and to trust that in time this will greatly contribute to humanity making a positive shift.

Who are you going to be? Observing the world around us, we see, we experience, we feel, and we acknowledge the darkness that is here. We then close our eyes and for a moment it is dark within us too as we acknowledge how at times we can feel so helpless. This is our cue to tap into those times in our own lives when this has personally played out – it’s our opportunity to feel those times of pain fully so we can release and heal them. This is what will allow the light to enter within even with our eyes still closed.

There was a time when I would have looked away at something happening in the external world that I simply could not handle because it was too horrific. But I realize the more I am able to look, take it fully into my being, allow it to move through me even though at times it feels excruciatingly painful. But to really feel and acknowledge that this darkness exists, I’ve come to experience that this is the way of actually expanding my heart to feel all that it needs to feel. When I don’t allow all those myriad of feelings I’m experiencing to flow through me it actually stunts the growth of my soul.

We are each so wise beyond what we give ourselves credit for – Owl wants for us to take it all in – eyes closed and accepting the darkness – and eyes wide open to let in the light.

Turning to the guidebook the last paragraph really jumped out at me:

“The solitary owl invites us to deepen our spiritual practices, turn inward for answers, and to develop a trusting relationship with our own intuition. They show us that a stealthy, still, and quiet spiritual practice can be more beneficial than those who take a more ‘loud and proud’ approach.”

Owl asks of us to ponder, who is it we wish to be and become?

A Little Helpful Wisdom From Dog

If only one of them would just let go. Looking at these two dogs, each pulling on a side of the flying disk so one can win the prize I see this as in invitation to look at what part of us is trying to win out that we may be ignoring?

We have to give ourselves credit in that most often we do recognize which part of us is trying to get our attention because it continues to come back again and again and again until we acknowledge it.

Sometimes when I see or hear the word resistance my body will tense up. But just now as I looked at the word resistance on the card I saw the word “stance” within it. I’d never realized this before.

Yes! Resistance is an opportunity to take a stance and change that which we may be resisting or fearing.

And instead of seeing resistance as negative, which I’m going to challenge myself to do also, let’s see it as a beacon of light shining the way to take time to just be with whatever it is we may be resisting or are afraid to acknowledge.

As far as winning the flying disk I believe also that both dogs don’t have the word or concept of “win” as part of who they are. They are just enjoying being in the moment of the tug and the pull knowing the outcome, whether they are the one left holding the flying disk or not, will be fine either way. There was something positively gained in both the tug and the pull.

Isn’t it always our projections about what we think an outcome will be when we are in fear that is actually worse than the very thing we were resisting?

A bit to ponder this week…enjoy…Woof!

Divine Dog Wisdom Cards – Reveal and Review

I love, love, love this oracle deck! Did I mention I love this oracle deck? ha! I recorded a video of me unveiling it when I received it in the mail yesterday and share that here along with a written review I did of it too which is below the video.

So if you want to be surprised and see how touched I was by a card I pulled that is now my favorite, be sure to watch the video first, as I spill the beans of which one it is in my written review. Just sayin’!  🙂

Love of Dogs Evident in this Deck and So Much More!

Whimsical and fun, but deep at the same time—just what dogs are all about and what they so beautifully share with us and serve as faithful guides to help us understand.

I hesitated to purchase this deck because I thought it would be too ‘cute’ and not enough depth that I like in oracle cards when I read for myself or for others. Was I ever wrong! It is both, and I really appreciate that, because life can be tough, but it also has many joyful moments too.

Just like dogs help us with, this deck does this too in that when we do the inner work, we also have to remember to play. This is what balance is all about and Divine Dog Wisdom Cards depicts exactly this.

My favorite card, which I pulled at random during a video unveiling I did of the deck, brought me to tears and the card is “Honor- Acknowledge you, me, and we.” It features three dachshunds side-by-side. For those that know me, they understand the significance of this in my life in that I was blessed to share my life with three special needs dachshunds that taught me this very lesson (and so much more)!

A lovely added feature in the guidebook is that each card has a section called, “Another Bone to Chew On” which are prompts to work with or a specific exercise to do to deepen the meaning and teaching of the card for your own life.

I’m thrilled to have this deck in my collection and look forward to working with it for a very long time to come!
