Are You Okay In There?

I was thinking that Sparrows are probably the least photographed bird. Check out this little darling on the right-hand side of the photo who was outside my writing cottage window this morning.

It almost looks to me like he is saying, “Hey, you in there. Are you okay?”

I was in my writing cottage early today and did a full moon oracle reading for myself. It’s a new ritual I put in place for myself this year – once a month for the new and full moon I take time in contemplation with a deck of oracle cards. They always provide helpful guidance and insight.

I’m not going to get into details here of the reading because, well, it was a personal reading, and I’m still simmering in its meaning for me.

But this little bird really captured my heart.

And yes, little one, I’m okay and every day feels a tiny bit better.

Just as I ended this post, the trill of a bird was singing on a Pandora radio station I was listening to. I just love how the universe holds our heart at all times.

And even in the tenderest times, when we feel most vulnerable, if we focus our awareness we are able to see and feel the support all around us.

Spirit Animal Oracle Reading for May 2019

Note: Dragonfly and Sandpiper in protection (upside down) which means to pay extra attention and a message of helping you to avoid difficulties.

Dragonfly as our anchor for the month of May asks where is it you are finding yourself caught in an illusion? Where is it perhaps you aren’t being honest with yourself? When we aren’t in touch with our truth it can feel heavy and like we are carrying a burden.

Sandpiper encourages us that when we feel this way it’s time to get out of our heads. How often do we get caught in the trap of trying to mentally figure things out? And only end up in an endless battle that loops over and over in our minds?

Sandpiper encourages us to take some time out for play. With their long graceful legs and long beak, Sandpiper encourages us to be light on our feet – dance – splash in the puddles and sing in the rain – whatever feels like play to you, do that! This is when without effort, the answers we were mentally digging so hard to find come effortlessly floating to the surface.  When this happens, pay attention to that vital shift within you that just occurred!  You will feel lighter not only in body but in mind and heart, too.

Wasp reminds us that when we lose our way it can indeed sting. But it’s also an opportunity to come back to the center of the truth of what we know. How often have you looked back and realized something that was painful brought you to a new understanding you’d not have had otherwise?  So when you lose your way, don’t forget to take time out to ground yourself. And when you feel ready, spread those newly expanded wings and fly back into the world again!

***In honor of Gidget’s 12th birthday I’m offering $12.00 off the price of a one hour Oracle Reading and Guidance Session with me. Expires May 31st, 2019. You can book your session here on my website.

Oracle Guidance and Animal Ally for Week of April 29th, 2019

Before I share the oracle guidance for the week I just want to say that this is something I’d like to do on a more consistent and weekly basis.

Much of my energy the last year has been devoted to writing my latest memoir. The actual writing of it is complete. Now I’m in the stage of tweaking and polishing it as I receive feedback from my beta readers. Once that is complete I’ll be sending it off to an editor. Yay!

So with this new stage I’m in, it has freed up a bit of time and I’m eager to share more readings and guidance from oracles and animals—and how perfect this is because it’s what my book is all about!  Funny how that works, huh?  🙂

Animals in many ways have led me to my fascination and interest in working with oracle cards as a personal growth tool. Both serve as reflections and help me contemplate my inner world and what it is I need to know to live the best life possible.

I’m excited to continue to share animals and oracles with you! So… let’s begin with some guidance for the week of April 29th.

The cards pulled this week are The Fates and Parrot Spirit. This is a general reading and what to energetically be aware of as you move through the week. Enjoy!

Note: The Fates was pulled in protection (reverse) which means pay extra attention. It’s also a message of helping you to avoid difficulties.

Are you struggling with something that is out of your control? The Fates is asking you to accept what is and surrender. There are certain situations in life that you aren’t meant to understand. It’s all part of the Great Plan. When you accept this, serenity is more easily able to flow through you.

Parrot is your animal ally guiding you to pay attention to what it is you may be saying to yourself when you find yourself in a situation you don’t understand and can’t control.

Are you beating yourself up wishing you could fix things? Are you thinking you should know the answer? Be kind to yourself. Watch how you are internally speaking to yourself. Be gentle with yourself. Parrot with all his brilliant and bold colors is also a sign to look for the beauty around you as anchors to bring you back to the center of your heart when you feel unsteady on your feet. This is what you can control – how you choose to see life.

And lastly, I heard parrot say, “Fly free pretty bird!” Your wings (growth) can’t expand if you hold on too tight to how you think you should fly instead of just knowing and trusting that you can.

Wishing you a great week!

Barbara
