Dogs In Heaven? Take a Listen.

A friend from long ago sent me this video of a song her brother Carl wrote years ago and recently recorded.

He was inspired to write it when his dog was about to pass away to try and answer the question many ask, “Do dogs go to heaven?” It is beautiful and I think you just might enjoy it, too.

As for my thoughts? I absolutely believe dogs go to heaven and while I’m not yet ready to leave this earth, I look forward to meeting all my canine friends once again! To me, to be with them, in a place with no worries or fears… well, that surely is heaven!

Learning to Keep On Dancing Even After a Broken Heart

Learning to Keep On Dancing Even After a Broken Heart
Dancing Leaf

In one moment I heard that Penny the pony died.

A pony of my best friends niece, McKayla. Not only was the pony McKayla’s heart horse, but Penny was special to her sister, and Mom and Dad, too.

My heart aches for the young girl who now has to learn that part of loving an animal is the heartache of saying goodbye.

It’s just something one can never explain adequately to a young child.

And then I turned around and looked out into my front yard.

A leaf was dancing in the wind. As if it was suspended in mid air, not attached to anything.

It pulled me to it as I watched it softly sway in the early light of the morning and I got caught up in its beautiful ballet before me.

One moment my heart hurt for my young friend and in the next moment I was lifted into a magical place, as if suspended in time along with that leaf.

It didn’t occur to me until I walked back in the house, and turned, and the leaf was now gone, how this all tied into life.

Life is a dance with twists and turns, happiness and sadness along the way.

The world for McKayla likely looks small and sad right now grieving the loss of her pony friend.

But in time, she will find herself dancing again like the leaf – open to new wonders and new animal friends that will find their way into her heart.

And that’s the thing… no matter what life throws our way, to always remember that we can dance again.

I put a short video up on Facebook of the dancing leaf. Come see. And if you look close enough, you just may see a fairy sitting upon it. 🙂

I Am One Who…

I Am One Who...
My SoulCollage® card honoring Dr. Wayne Dyer

I am one who sees through a more enlightened portal because of the teachings of a man I greatly admired, Mr. Wayne Dyer. I am one who now believes more in what I can’t see, that divine order is in place, that magic exists, and that kindness and love is what matters most. I am one who believes without a shadow of a doubt that Dr. Dyer’s spirit is larger than ever now, free without physical body, to guide those who are lost, and to remind those who loved him, that he is always near. All we have to do is remember and look into our hearts and he is there.

Last November I became a SoulCollage® facilitator seeing the potential of healing, fun, and creativity that this process can provide others. It certainly has proven it to me with the cards I’ve made so far! My cards have become so sacred to me – like good friends – there for me when I need answers to life’s questions.

At the heart of SoulCollage® is the “I am one Who” where we act as if we are stepping into the card to hear it speak – to hear its wisdom.

Today I felt called to make a card to honor Dr. Wayne Dyer, who I wrote about and my tribute to him a few days ago.

In SoulCollage® we have what is called Community cards—cards that can be made to honor those we love, are mentors to us, parents, friends, and pets.

Recently I also made a card of my dog, Cassie Jo, who passed away over ten years ago. I was pleasantly surprised when my friend and animal communicator, Dawn, guided me through a meditation, that Cassie Jo showed up.

I didn’t expect it at all. It truly felt magical and my heart smiled big time being with her within that sacred space and then capturing with images what it looked like to me.

The more I understand that we really are all connected, the more my world opens in beautiful ways…and I love capturing this in the SoulCollage® I make.

And it’s why I’m so excited to be doing an online workshop with my friend, Dawn, to help others experience this, too.  We are both looking forward to helping guide others in connecting with an animal friend that has passed over.  If you’d like to join us, you can check out the details here.
