This rolling doxie has so much love to give! And as a loving tribute to all the ‘downed’ doxie’s that we have ever loved, 100% of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to the Walk ‘N Roll Dog Day to benefit the Frankie Wheelchair Fund. Barbara Techel of Joyful Paws (author of Frankie the Walk ‘N Roll Dog) started this last year as a memorial fund after Frankie’s passing. Her mission is to help dogs in need to get their wheelchairs so they may live long, happy, quality lives.

This adorable doxie was meticulously hand-sculpted and detailed from premium quality clay. All of my creations are heirloom-quality, and they are finished with layers of protective, water-based glaze. Cleaning is always a breeze with a soft, damp cloth.

Quoted shipping charge includes insurance against damage and loss via USPS Priority Mail. Due to the fragile nature of this piece, combined shipping with another item is not offered.

The little sweetheart is ready to go home with you today! Can you think of someone special that would appreciate a cutie pie with a rose, love letter on a silver tray, and an assortment of sweet treats on Valentine’s Day?  Order here if you’d like to have this sweet one roll home to you!

A very special thank you to Grace for her love of our special rolling dachshunds and her wonderful generosity!!

There is Much Good in the World

back shot in wheels looking out window

I don’t know why, but going into 2013 I just felt like it was going to be a great year. I have nothing to really know why, but I just feel something inside that says it is going to be a wonderful year.

We are almost done with January and good things are happening here at Joyful Paws Headquarters, a.k.a. my writing cottage. Last week I was contacted by a veterinarian clinic. They will be teaching relaxation massage classes in Feb., March and April.  Instead of charging a fee they are asking for donations.  They told me they would like the donations to go to the Frankie Wheelchair Fund.  Well, that just shot me over the moon!  There is much good in the world.

Today I met with Bookworm Gardens where Frankie’s legacy lives on in gardens in nature that connect with children’s literacy. They are planning their big kick off event for the season on May 4th when the gardens will open once again for the warmer weather. They’ve decided to do what will be called, “Walk, Roll and Read Day.”  The gardens are located across from our local University Campus, so the walk (or roll with strollers or tricycles) will be around the campus loop. It will be a family outing and walk/run and fundraiser for Bookworm Gardens who have graciously offered to donate a portion of proceeds to the Frankie Wheelchair Fund. There is so much good in the world. I’ll also be on hand for storytelling time and a book signing that day. And yours truly, the new ‘walk ‘n roll dog’  of my life will be making an appearance.

These two recent unfolding of events and generosity have me feeling on such a high of happiness. There is much good in the world and I’m loving my corner of the world and all the caring and kind people I am surrounded by.

Meet Jackson: Another Recipient of the Frankie Wheelchair Fund

jackson

Can you believe how cute that face is?  Love it!  Below is a note I received from Jenelle Conley of Lilly Bear’s Rescue about Jackson:

Hi, my name is Jenelle and I run a small rescue in Northeast Indiana called Lilly Bear’s Rescue. We took in a very sweet 3 year old Dachshund named Jackson. He was adopted out to an older woman who loved him so much. After about 4 months in his new home Jackson was chasing a squirrel in his back yard and slipped 3 disk in his back. He was instantly unable to walk. She took him into the vet where they tried steroids because she was unable to afford surgery. The steroids did not help Jackson and she was forced to return him to the rescue. She was just physically unable to take care of him as a handicapped dog.

After taking Jackson back we have been taking him to a Chiropractor and are hopeful he may one day walk again but in the meantime we thought getting him a wheelchair would help him get around better. We began the search for a wheelchair when we found the company Eddies Wheels. They told us about Frankie and offered to build Jackson’s wheelchair for no charge! We are so grateful for your work and just wanted you to know that Frankie was able to help another Dachshund! Thanks again you have changed Jackson’s life!

I don’t know about you, but this never gets old hearing from those we could help… and all because of all of you who have donated to the Frankie Wheelchair Fund to make this possible, I say a big thank you once again. Be sure to stop by Lilly Bear’s Rescue and watch the video of Jackson fetching his toy– the little girl’s giggles are priceless!

Please  join me in wishing Jackson the very best as he live’s a full, happy, quality life in his Eddie’s Wheels wheelchair.
