As I mentioned last week, Blankets in Bloom has extended a very lovely offer to help raise money for The Frankie Wheelchair Fund — the fund I started almost four years ago to help paralyzed dogs who are in need of a wheelchair.

Many paralyzed dogs are incontinent. Catherine of Blankets in Bloom saw a way to help these dogs in need by designing waterproof dog blankets and beds.

Gidget, who has IVDD and incontinent herself, was the first dog to test drive a waterproof blanket. We give it four paws, two perky ears, and an arf! arf! up!

Today through Sunday, March 20th, Blankets in Bloom will donate 20% of the proceeds from waterproof blankets, beds, and covers to The Frankie Wheelchair Fund.

To check out them out please visit Blanket in Bloom’s page on their Etsy site by clicking here or on the photo of Gidget above.

If you know of someone with an incontinent dog, please do share this information with them too!

Thank you so much to Catherine of Blankets in Bloom for reaching out to me and to her big heart for wanting to do something helpful for disabled dogs in need.

Want to see all the dogs helped so far from The Frankie Wheelchair Fund? Check it out here! Cost of custom wheelchairs run from $350-$1,500.

The Frankie Wheelchair Fund is proud and honored to work with Eddie’s Wheels in the design of all custom wheelchairs provided through our fund.

CBS NEWS spotlights Eddie’s Wheels for Pets. As founder of The Frankie Wheelchair Fund, I’m so proud to share this video of the most recent recipient, Pepper, getting her wheelchair because of donations from my fund.

Because of donations from so many over the years, I’m able to help families in financial stress who have a paralyzed dog in need of a wheelchair, or for paralyzed dogs in rescue.

It’s not often I get to see a dog being fitted in action at Eddie’s Wheels for Pets that the fund was a part of…. and then see the dog rolling for the first time like in this clip done by CBS.

It brings a lump to my throat and joy to my heart to be a part of a paralyzed dogs new journey in this way!

Thanks to Eddie’s Wheels for Pets for their dedication in helping disabled animals and to CBS for spotlighting the fact that paralyzed dogs can live a quality life if given a chance.

Another Doggie Now Rollin’ Thanks to The Frankie Wheelchair Fund

I know I’ve likely said this here before, but every time The Frankie Wheelchair Fund gets to help another paralyzed dog in need, well, I am in awe.

Never did I think almost four year ago since Frankie’s passing that I’d be saying this is the 55th dog we’ve been able to grant a set of customized wheels to. I never, ever tire of the good feelings that flood my heart when another paralyzed dog is helped.

And I say “we” because I couldn’t do it without all those that have supported this effort, new people that discover us and donate, and organizations that have supported us too.

I’ll never be able to adequately express how grateful I am. But please know that I am.

Pepper is now a happy, rolling dog who gets to enjoy new adventures because of a set of wheels. And if her ears are any indication of happy, well, I’d say she is having the time of her life!

Stay tuned for a special fundraiser starting next week!  I’m grateful to Catherine of Blankets in Bloom for reaching out to me to help.

The week of March 14th, Blankets in Bloom will donate 20 percent of the net proceeds from the sale of waterproof blankets and crate pad covers to The Frankie WheelChair Fund, which has been helping paralyzed dogs since 2012. Donations to this fund go toward custom built wheelchairs to help provide disabled dogs a long and happy quality of life.
