Peewee Gains Mobility for Two Days…Before Rolling Off into the Sunset

Peewee Gains Mobility for Two Days…Before Rolling Off into the Sunset

As you know, it always brings me such joy to help a paralyzed dog gain mobility again which I’m able to do because of the generous donation from others to The Frankie Wheelchair Fund.

Peewee is the 48th dog the Fund had the honor of gifting the freedom to walk again….

even if it was only for two days. But it was the happiest of two days this little one had, his ears flying once again in the wind…before he rolled off into the sunset.

Because of complications with other issues, Peewee’s loving guardian did what was best for him and helped him cross to the other side.

Though I’m sad for his passing and for his caretakers broken heart… there is joy in that Peewee got to be all dog again and go for a few walks in his new set of wheels.

It’s such a beautiful reminder of enjoying each precious moment we have here on earth.

And the gift that Peewee received will now be passed on as a gift to another paralyzed dog in need.  Bless you dear, Peewee.

Come Meet Peppermint

Come Meet Peppermint
A dachshund nose always knows!

Peppermint (formerly Pepper) was paralyzed and overweight when she came into rescue with Patricia.

They knew she’d eventually need a wheelchair, but first she needed to lose weight.

With the loving care of foster mom, Lori, Peppermint found her girlish figure once again.

And as a reward, a new outfit…this one in the form of a wheelchair, so she could do what doxie’s love to do best, and that is explore, explore, explore.

Here she is at the marina sniffing up all the glorious smells of a crisp, fall day.

Keep on rolling, Peppermint!

Peppermint’s wheelchair paid for courtesy of the Frankie Wheelchair Fund and custom made by Eddie’s Wheels for Pets.

Meet Maggie: The 36th Paralyzed Dog Granted a Wheelchair thru The Frankie Wheelchair Fund with help from Hailey’s Wheels for Life

annie cA picture is worth a thousand words, right? Well, I think this picture says that and so much more!

Meet little Maggie who was recently granted a wheelchair. Her wheelchair granted as a collaborative effort with The Frankie Wheelchair Fund and Hailey’s Wheels for Life working together, combining our funds, and helping this little girl gain mobility.

I heard about Maggie through Matt Pike, founder of Hailey’s Wheels for Life. He forwarded an email from Annie, who was trying to help her friend, Beverly (who as you can see also has physical challenges) and her dog, Maggie who has IVDD and is paralyzed.

This joint effort was such a joy! To see little Maggie wheeling down the ramp of her home brings tears to my eyes — and to see Beverly’s smile, knowing her little girl now has a quality life — well, that is just priceless.

Annie also shot some video footage which I compiled together in one video – sorry for the sideways shots – this is how the videos came to me and I wasn’t sure how to fix. But you will see how happy Maggie is and wait until you see her roll down the ramp!
