Continued Progress

It is Labor today, and my husband John is doing just that… laboring.  All for me and my room.  A few weeks back before this project had begun, I asked him how this will all unfold.  Yes, I was a bit concerned being I am the wife of a busy general contractor and wondering if this room will become a reality in the near future.  You know what they say about the shoemaker’s kids and they don’t have decent shoes… well, something like that.  So, yes, I was concerned at the timing and progression of my room.

John explained to me the process.  The excavator will come in and dig the holes.  Then he (John) will cement the holes, and then the room will go up. He said, “You will be amazed at how fast this goes.”  Well, I just couldn’t help myself.  With a crooked grin spread across my face, I looked into his eyes and said, “Amaze me.”  I have since shared that line with friends and family which has gotten many laughs.  John on the other hand now not only has me to amaze, but a slew of others watching his progress.  Poor guy, huh?

He spent all of yesterday (on his birthday no less!) and today working on the room.  The walls and floor are being constructed right in our driveway.  The excavator has not shown up yet to backfill the holes, so ingenious John does not let that stop the progress…. well, that and the face of his wife looking at him with pleading eyes to please keep going on the room.  Stay tuned and if all goes as planned you will be simply amazed!
