I learned yesterday of the passing of this sweet, wonderful doxie named Jasper.  He was 16 years old.  Jasper’s mom, Linda, shared with me his story, which is I just had to share with you and Linda granted me permission.  Linda said, “I held him in my arms all night whispering my love to him and telling him how wonderful he had always been.”  She said he never had a mean bone in his body.

Linda has 7 other doxie’s at home she is doxie mom to.  Jasper was a little extra special because of how he came to live with Linda.  Jasper belonged to her friend Mary.  One day in 1997 Mary’s house was on fire.  Mary ran back into the house to save Jasper’s puppies, but Mary never came out again.  Mary and the 8 doxie puppies perished in the fire.  Linda took in the mom and dad doxie parents to those puppies and that was Sara Lee and Jasper.  Sara Lee died a couple of years ago and now Jasper and so it was Linda’s last link to her friend Mary.  I can just feel her heartache.

At the same time I felt happy for Mary, knowing she is reunited with her whole doxie family once again.  It is now her turn to take care of them and wait till they are all united once again with Linda.  Won’t that be a special day!  How lucky Mary was to have her friend Linda take the utmost care of Jasper and Sara Lee for her.

My heart goes out to Linda as she misses sweet, little Jasper.  I sent her my all time favorite quote I recently found on a card:  “There Is No Death, Only A Change of Worlds.”  -Chief Seattle.  I believe that with all my heart and I absolutely believe without a doubt, Linda will see Jasper again.
