My First Booked Presentation!

Yesterday I received a call from a gentleman who is a member of the local Lion’s Club.  I had met him mid-summer when I was hanging out at my sister-in-law’s garage sale with Frankie.

He was intrigued with Frankie and asked me about her.  I told him a short version of my story and how I am writing a children’s book about her.  He asked if I would consider speaking at their yearly meeting which is held in Appleton.  I said, "Yes!"  I gave him my card and he was on his way.

So, I let it go and thought, well, if it is meant to be, it will happen… and it did.  The committee has approved having me speak.  They look for inspirational stories and this gentleman said Frankie’s story will be a wonderful one for me to share.  Wow, I am so touched.  And my family and friends will be relieved I will have another avenue of which to talk about Frankie… they have endured alot from me as I am going through this process of writing a book.  I will have all new ears to share our story…. I am honored.  And yes, I must admit, my knees will be knockin’ that day, but I know I must reach beyond my comfort zone to grow.

Reaching beyond your comfort zone, I have found, is so much easier when you are doing something you believe in… and you are doing it straight from your heart.  So, with knees a knockin’ and Frankie at my side, I will do my best to share our story.
