Out of the Mouths of Babes

Frankie and I have been setting up a table with our books each Saturday at our quaint, adorable, farmer's market in Elkhart Lake.  If you have Frankie's book, you know there are two photo's of the Depot that is the center of the market.  It does not get anymore hometown than this… railroad tracks nearby, though un-used these days.  That always makes me sad.  I loved the sound of the train when it came through town.

Frankie and I enjoy hanging out under the shade tree and we are thankful to the people in charge of the market for giving us the best spot at the market.  They were concerned for little Frankie and do not want her to over heat.

This past Saturday we met Nate and Joe.  Grandchildren of a local couple.  Nate is 5 years old and cute as a bugs ear.  He saw Frankie's book and his eyes lit up like the stars when he saw, Frankie.  He said, "I didn't know she was really real!"  He had checked Frankie's book out from the library and read about Frankie.  When he saw her in person… or would that be dogson… he was thrilled to see she is real.  The look on his face was priceless.  Whenever we encounter situations like this my heart grows even more.  Pretty soon I will be like the Grinch and my heart will pop out my chest.  I hope so… it is my definition of success.  Positively impacting the lives of others… and especially little Nate that day.  He was in awe of Frankie… and we in awe of him for his beautiful, out-going, boisterous spirit!
