Blind Dog Gets New Lease On Life

The minute I saw the face of this adorable dog in the video, my eyes filled with tears. Not out of pity, but out of admiration for the will of life she has. How often do we look at these animals and take pity? What are they teaching us? They are teaching us to love them no matter what…. and to embrace that non judgment and love and use it in our daily lives not only towards animals, but towards our fellow human friends as well.  This is the reason I believe God gave me my Frankie… to see the world in a whole new way. To love like I’ve never loved before, to catch myself when I judge, to be a better human being, and to pass along compassion every chance I can.  This is what this video reminds me to do… as well as seeing the face of little Frankie each morning when I awake.

Moo Kitty Finds a New Home- Book Review

I was so honored and tickled to be asked to review an advance copy of this new book, “Moo Kitty Finds a New Home.” I’m now head-over-heels in love not only with Moo Kitty, but the story that will no doubt help many shelter animals find forever homes. So without further ado, here is my review:

Moo Kitty purred his way right into my heart! Oh, how my heart ached when Moo Kitty’s beloved elderly parent passes away, and was also then abandoned by family members. Left to fend for himself he is guided by three guardian angel kitties to have faith he will find a new home-such an incredibly beautiful lesson in just that for children- to believe and not give up hope. Valerie Lee Veltre has tackled a tough subject with compassion and grace, shedding a positive light on shelters, and the truly amazing work they do each and every day to help all pets find loving homes.

This book will help our younger generation to understand that an older pet has just as much love to give as a young one, as well as encourage adults to think about doing the same.

I see only good, and many happy shelter animals finding their way to loving, forever homes with the help of Moo Kitty leading the way. Bravo to Valerie for sharing a truly inspiring story to change the lives of many pets now, and in the future.

This book will make a great gift for youngsters or buy a bunch to donate to your local shelters to use as a fundraiser.

She has taught me that the rewards of adopting a special needs pet are far greater than the difficulties.  And their ability to love is not affected.

Anything else you’d like to share?

All my pets are adopted and they have been so good to “teach” Lilly.  They are so patient with her and they don’t seem to mind her following them around.  The vet said she needed her own hearing/seeing dogs to teach her and that has been so helpful.

My life changed for the better and my heart grew ten times it size when my dog, Frankie ruptured a disk and ended up in a doggie wheelchair.  That may sound odd, but it lead me to a calling that has brought me so much joy.

I love being an advocate for pets with special neeeds educating others that disabled pets are just as lovable as any other pet. I also feel so blessed to help kids of all ages see their challenges in a positive way through Frankie’s example. Frankie is an incredbile gift not only in my life, but she has helped thousands of children through the book series about her, as well as the visits we do to schools in WI and schools across the US and Canada via Skype.

Sharing other pets with special needs expands on the message that all animals deserve a chance. Sharing these pets helps to spread a positive message and every time I meet a new special needs pet I feel my heart grow even bigger.  I hope it does the same for you and you pass on the love.
