Pilots to the Rescue – 2025’s Recipient for a Portion of My Art Proceeds – Plus New Bird Art!

Kingfisher – Explore – Mixed Media Collage 6 x 6 on birchwood

I’m happy to announce, in collaboration with LaValley Home and Garden, this years recipient for a portion of my art sold will benefit Pilots to the Rescue.

Their Mission:

The mission of Pilots To The Rescue is to prevent at-risk animals from being euthanized by transporting them via air and ground transportation to give them the best chance at adoption.

Volunteer pilots fly animals from critical situations to safety, ultimately saving lives.

Not only has this organization helped dogs and cats, they’ve also helped ten foxes and four wolves. Catch a video below to learn more about them!

And to kick off this announcement I have five new pieces of art available for purchase through LaValley Home in Garden in Howards Grove, WI. No worries if you aren’t local, as they will ship upon request!

My mixed media Animal Oracle Art thoughtfully blends together chosen images of animals that have inspired and/or captured my attention in some way! Each image and corresponding backgrounds are enhanced with a variety of pastel chalks, pencils, markers, and paint. My collages include dried florals, leaves, and natural elements I discover on my walks such as acorns, feathers, stones, and tree branches, along with bits of discarded/recycled ephemera. Animal image and supporting images are then curated and adhered to create a dimensional effect that is gently and lovingly nestled with care on birchwood.

Check out this heartwarming video of the mission of Pilots to the Rescue who have helped over 4,000 souls to date!

Blind Dog Gets New Lease On Life

The minute I saw the face of this adorable dog in the video, my eyes filled with tears. Not out of pity, but out of admiration for the will of life she has. How often do we look at these animals and take pity? What are they teaching us? They are teaching us to love them no matter what…. and to embrace that non judgment and love and use it in our daily lives not only towards animals, but towards our fellow human friends as well.  This is the reason I believe God gave me my Frankie… to see the world in a whole new way. To love like I’ve never loved before, to catch myself when I judge, to be a better human being, and to pass along compassion every chance I can.  This is what this video reminds me to do… as well as seeing the face of little Frankie each morning when I awake.

Moo Kitty Finds a New Home- Book Review

I was so honored and tickled to be asked to review an advance copy of this new book, “Moo Kitty Finds a New Home.” I’m now head-over-heels in love not only with Moo Kitty, but the story that will no doubt help many shelter animals find forever homes. So without further ado, here is my review:

Moo Kitty purred his way right into my heart! Oh, how my heart ached when Moo Kitty’s beloved elderly parent passes away, and was also then abandoned by family members. Left to fend for himself he is guided by three guardian angel kitties to have faith he will find a new home-such an incredibly beautiful lesson in just that for children- to believe and not give up hope. Valerie Lee Veltre has tackled a tough subject with compassion and grace, shedding a positive light on shelters, and the truly amazing work they do each and every day to help all pets find loving homes.

This book will help our younger generation to understand that an older pet has just as much love to give as a young one, as well as encourage adults to think about doing the same.

I see only good, and many happy shelter animals finding their way to loving, forever homes with the help of Moo Kitty leading the way. Bravo to Valerie for sharing a truly inspiring story to change the lives of many pets now, and in the future.

This book will make a great gift for youngsters or buy a bunch to donate to your local shelters to use as a fundraiser.
