Moments I'm Reminded that I AM a Part of God/Spirit/Source

It’s so easy to see God/Spirit/Source in nature and our animal friends. Not always so easy to see it in ourselves. We can get so caught up in our minds instead of living from our hearts and in our body.

But there are beautiful moments when I’m reminded once again that I too am a part of God/Spirit/Source.

Especially afternoons when the sun is streaming in through the kitchen window. I feel like I catch a glimpse of this essence we can’t see, but can feel if we really tune in.

And I really feel it in moments like this when I see Gidget in the rays of the sunshine as if lit from the inside, out.

It brings me right back to the center of how one should really live in order to experience pure joy. It’s an inside job that will reflect on the outside when we are living from our true essence. Animals live this in every waking moment.

Yesterday I had an amazing experience of working with the spirit of horse at my friend Pam’s horse farm. I’m still simmering in all the gifts of that time before I write about it.

Awaken - Wednesdays with the Wisdom of Dog

As I sat outside on my deck today for just a few moments, I was reminded of all the life going on around me.

How easily distracted we can become in our everyday lives and miss this.

But spring is like an awakening and a reminder to live a more conscious life. I watched as Gidget chased around the deck after the noise of the birds in the shrubs.

And Kylie sensed the new smells in the air as her snout lifted toward the sky.

And then I saw the leaves dancing in the wind.

And the hummingbird hover above the feeder.

And a butterfly gracefully flutter by.

And the sun soaking into my skin.

And geese honking in the distance that are nesting in the field behind our house.

The petals of flowers that are opening right before me even though I can’t really see it happening – but it is.

I sat there, just like Kylie and Gidget do so instinctively. So awake to what is around them.

Such a beautiful way in which to be reminded of seeing grace right in the place that you are – and nature and pets as our teachers.

Wednesdays with the Wisdom of Dog: Stand in Your Truth

Stand in your truth. There is no other way in which to truly live. When we allow our light of truth to shine, we open doorways to invite more of who we are in.

It seems when we find the courage to own a piece of our truth, another teaching shows up to test us. This will in turn lead us deeper into our authenticity if we don’t let fear stand in the way.

I find myself in this place yet again as a new lesson on Self and trust of my inner voice presents itself, almost as if a mirror to me from Gidget—as she encourage’s me to lean into my intuition.

There is definitely something to this sprite of a spirit that I’ve been blessed with that I so want to honor, and in turn, I realized I am also honoring myself.

I continue to be in immense gratitude and complete awe for what our animal friends give to us when we are open to receive.
