My New Book Approved by Joie

IMG_1019Isn’t life just so much sweeter with a dog at your side?  Well, I think by now you know that is how I define pure joy.

Today I completed the final proofing of my new book. Whew. It is a tedious process, but I’m thrilled to be done. As you can see, Joie also approves. I’m eager to push it out into the world and have others read it instead of me reading it as many times as I have!

This is all part of the process and I couldn’t let it go out into the world any other way. I told Joie it is vitally important that all my i’s and t’s are crossed.  I think she nodded in agreement, or maybe that was her nodding off to sleep. Whatever it was, I feel so lucky to have this sweet bundle at my side.

Every Writer Needs a Good (four legged) Proofreader

proofreader

My final manuscript has been proofread by myself, my developmental editor and my copy-editor. Now that I have the actual paperback proof copy in hand, I must go through it once again and proofread. I will need to do the same for the ebook version. Not my favorite task, as it does start to feel quite tedious at this stage of the game. But oh, so necessary, as I have found some things that need to be corrected that were not caught the first few times around. Goes to show how important proofreading truly is!

It has been made a bit more cozy and fun with the help of my very special four legged proofreader, as you can see in the above photo. Nothing like a soft ball of fur curled on your lap to make something tedious a bit more enjoyable. Good dog, Joie. Good dog.
