Welcome to the World Little Blossom

IMG_2316

Just as if I was cooing to a new little puppy, I said, “Oh, sweet little blossom. Welcome to the world. Welcome!”

Maybe it was Mother Nature that whispered to this last bud of my orchid that had not yet opened its petals and said, “Hey Spring has arrived. Come see!”

She was late in opening, but what a gift it was this morning to see her delicate, soft petals, open to the sun beaming through the window. As if she had stretched and yawned from a long, winters nap.

A new born blossom, right here in my writing cottage, gracing me with her brilliant and graceful beauty.

Petals wide open to the world. And I could have sworn I heard her say in a wee little voice, “Oh this is a lovely place to be. I think I shall rest here awhile.”

It truly is the simple little things, isn’t it?  Though really, not so simple when you think of all the marvels and wonders of this world and how they were all created. It leaves me in awe. Every. Single. Time.
